DUBAI: The Dubai Police have recently honoured Mohammad Orfan Mohammad Rafeeq, a Careem driver, for his honesty as he handed over Dhs900,000 cash left behind by a passenger to the Bur Dubai Police Station.

Brigadier Abdullah Khadim Sorour, Director of Bur Dubai Police Station, praised Rafeeq for the honesty and for handing over the large sum to the nearest police station.

Brig Sorour also honoured Rafeeq with a certificate of appreciation, to emphasise the importance of collaboration between the community and police.

Brig Sorour reaffirmed Dubai Police’s keenness on strengthening the concept of community partnership and reinforcing the sense of responsibility among individuals.

Rafeeq thanked the Dubai Police for honouring him and expressed that this honour gives him great pride and joy.

Meanwhile, the Ajman Police General Command, represented by Lieutenant Colonel Ghaith Khalifa Al Kaabi, Chief of the City Comprehensive Police Station, also honoured two Arabs, Mohammed Bashir Hassan, a Sudanese, and Abdul Nasser Najeh Al Shishtawy, an Egyptian, for their honesty and their sense of social responsibility by returning two wallets containing money and bank cards they found in public places in the Emirate of Ajman.

The two Arabs immediately rushed to the city comprehensive police station and handed the wallets to the police.

Al Kaabi handed the Arabs two certificates of appreciation for their honesty and returning the things they found.

In a separate development, a police officer at the Abu Dhabi Police refused a financial bribe offered by a number of people, who consequently were arrested and referred to the Public Prosecution for further legal action.

The cop reportedly refused the bribe offered to him to disregard security measures that he reviews within his duty.

He was asked to pass incorrect information on security services supplied by that company in return for amount of money, but he refused.

Major General Faris Khalaf Al Mazrouei, Commander-in-chief of Abu Dhabi Police commended the integrity of the cop who prevented such an illegal act of those involved. He affirmed honesty and impartially of policemen and their strictness towards all those who harm the safety of society.

In September 2020, the Dubai Police honoured Rich James Kamal Kumar for his honesty as he handed over a bag with $14,000 in cash and gold worth Dhs200,000 he had found to the Al Qusais Police Station.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, affirmed that there is no finish line for the race for excellence, and that everyone has to take risks in their life, but the greatest danger is that one never takes a risk.

Sheikh Mohammed stressed that he and his team fulfil their promise when they promise something.

Sheikh Mohammed in a video clip posted on Instagram under the hashtag #Flashesofthought, “I always tell my team, in the race for excellence there is no finish line and this becomes more realistic every day… When we promise, we fulfil the promise… We all have dreams, but only the leader can transform them into reality. We all take risks in life, but the greatest danger is not to take risks at all. “

Sheikh Mohammed launched the hashtag #Flashesofthought on his Instagram account, to share with the public part of his life, practical experiences, and leadership vision.

In February, Sheikh Mohammed said that it is not possible for him to agree to implement a project or embody an idea into reality if it does not draw his attention, or if he is not 100% convinced of it.

Sheikh Mohammed said, “When I talk about what our fathers did and reached and see our small role and what we have achieved, I feel enthusiastic… Follow-up and support is required to develop the country...”

Sheikh Mohammed said he does not work alone, but is part of a large work team including young people who do tremendous work.

“We have a vision. A project or idea is not implemented unless I am 100% convinced of it, and in case I am convinced, I do not stop.”

In January, Sheikh Mohammed said that a country gets old if it loses its fighting spirit.

The Dubai Ruler took to Twitter and shared his lesson as part of the series “What Life Taught Me.”

He said, “Life has taught me ... that countries will age if they lose their enthusiasm ... and age if they lose their motivation ... and grow old if they lose their fighting spirit... even if their youth increases… the minds that are filled with the flame of competition never get old.”

“What Life Taught Me” is a series through which the Dubai Ruler shares anecdotes and advises on social media.

During a field visit in June 2020, Sheikh Mohammed shared, “Life has taught me ... that life does not stop… a stage ends for another to start ... and one thing passes for another to come ... just as the day and night rotate, the events follow... and the life is renewed... and the man always returns to the movement that God wanted… not to despair… Rather, it starts with a constant determination to make life…”

Sheikh Mohammed stressed the need for being active and energetic and this should be the lifestyle.

Sheikh Mohammed stressed that he wants the people of the Emirates to have a high physical fitness, because it is strongly linked to work productivity and because the lazy person will not produce anything.

Sheikh Mohammed noted that a physically fit person is useful to his society, while the inactive person will normally get out of the race of excellence after his inactivity turns into laziness, and then, he becomes miserable.

Sheikh Mohammed added, “I want my people to have a high physical fitness, the elderly and the young alike. If you are physically good, you will be useful... Now you must be the best, do not sit idle, otherwise you will be out of the race and you will be miserable. The lazy can not produce anything.”

On Jan. 4, 2021, Mohammed marked the 15th anniversary of his Accession Day.

Sheikh Mohammed highlighted the key milestones that have placed the UAE as a leading nation in the region and the world through an open letter he wrote to the people of the UAE.

Celebrating 15 years of heading the federal government, he addressed the major achievements that have transformed the UAE’S government work starting with the first federal strategy of 2007 to the announcement of the UAE Vision 2021 back in 2009.
