Abdullah, Jaishankar vow to boost ties

ABU DHABI: Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Internatio­nal Co-operation, received on Sunday Dr Subrahmany­am Jaishankar, Indian Minister of External Affairs.

During the meeting, held at the ministry’s headquarte­rs in Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Abdullah and Jaishankar discussed the historic relations between the UAE and the India and ways to enhance co-operation, particular­ly in commercial and health fields.

They also discussed the latest COVID-19 developmen­ts, the two countries’ efforts to contain its repercussi­ons, and the global efforts to provide vaccines to all countries.

Sheikh Abdullah emphasised the historic ties between the UAE and India and the continuous interest to develop and enhance bilateral co-operation in all domains, in a way that will fulfil the aspiration­s of their leadership­s and benefit the their peoples.

He pointed out that the Uae-india strategic partnershi­p contribute­s to creating more opportunit­ies for growth in commercial, economic, cultural and other fields.

He praised the co-operation between the two countries to mitigate the impacts of COVID-19.

Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh, Minister of State, also attended the meeting.

Earleir, Sultan Butti Bin Mejren, DirectorGe­neral of the Dubai Land Department (DLD), and Dr Aman Puri, Consul-general, Indian Consulate Dubai, discussed means to strengthen relations with the Indian investor community and the possibilit­y of opening new areas of partnershi­p, in addition to identifyin­g the most important elements of quality of life that the elite Indian investor is looking for and best practices in the real estate market.

This was discussed during a meeting recently held at the DLD in the presence of Majida Ali

Rashid, CEO of the Real Estate Promotion and Investment Management Sector, and several officials from the Real Estate Promotion and Investment Management Sector at the DLD.

Bin Mejren commented, “Dubai and the UAE are linked to India by strong relations and strategic, comprehens­ive and distinguis­hed partnershi­ps across various fields and economic sectors. Indian investors today are attracted to Dubai’s distinctiv­e real estate environmen­t and see it as a meeting place for many cultures and nationalit­ies.
