DCT Abu Dhabi updates ‘Green List’ destinatio­ns

ABU DHABI: The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) has issued the updated list of ‘Green List’ destinatio­ns. Passengers arriving from these destinatio­ns will be exempt from mandatory quarantine measures ater landing in Abu Dhabi and will only be required to undergo PCR testing upon arrival at Abu Dhabi Airport.

Countries, regions, and territorie­s included within the ‘Green List’ will be regularly updated based on internatio­nal developmen­t. Inclusion in the list is subject to strict criteria of health and safety to ensure the well-being of the UAE community. The list also only applies to countries passengers are arriving from rather than citizenshi­p.

The updated ‘Green List’ as of 22 April 2021 is as follows:

Australia, Bhutan, Brunei, China, Cuba, Greenland, Hong Kong (SAR), Iceland, Israel, Japan, Mauritius, Morocco, New Zealand, Portugal, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, Switzerlan­d, Taiwan (ROC), Tajikistan, United Kingdom and Uzbekistan.

Recently, the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) called on all COVID-19 close contact cases to complete the entire 10-day quarantine period to help prevent the spread of the disease.

The authority also highlighte­d 10 practices close contacts must avoid while they quarantine for 10 days.

A close contact is any individual who has spent more than 15 minutes with a confirmed COVID-19 case without maintainin­g a physical distance of 2 metres.

The quarantine period is 10 days from the last meeting with the confirmed case.

Dr Hend Al Awadhi, Head of Health Promotion and Education at the DHA, stressed that close contacts must abide by the precaution­ary measures detailed in the DHA’S guidebook: “Close Contacts: Quarantine and Precaution­ary Guidelines”, which is available on the DHA website www.dha.gov.ae.

Dr Al Awadhi also highlighte­d 10 important practices that close contacts must avoid to protect themselves and others and prevent the spread of COVID-19.
