Police tighten safety moves

DUBAI: The Dubai Police affirmed that they will take strict measures against violators in public places, or at home, according to the decisions of the State Attorney General, concerning home gatherings.

The police added that a fine of Dhs50,000 will be applied on those who do not abide by the decisions related to preventing gatherings of more than five persons in one place, or during parties in homes and private places

Major General Abdullah Al Ghaithi, Acting Assistant Commander in Chief of Operations Affairs, said in a press conference: “The Dubai Police developed a comprehens­ive plan within the framework of preparatio­ns for Eid Al Fitr to achieve traffic flow and safety, by providing 500 patrols.”

He added that 3,000 policemen will secure Eid activities, while providing 111 ambulance vehicles, 72 fire engines, with the participat­ion of 700 volunteers, all over Dubai, 433 patrols and 160 rescuers on the beaches of Dubai.

He also affirmed that the praying places, shopping centres, beaches and open areas will be secured by regular and constant patrols.

Al Ghaithi called on road users to take precaution­s while driving to avoid traffic accidents and not to commit serious violations such as excessive speeding, reckless driving, and overtaking from the shoulder of the road. He stressed the need to follow the regulation­s and instructio­ns.

Al Ghaithi called upon everyone to adhere to all precaution­ary measures, and to call 901 if any violations are observed.
