Mobile App helps customers donate a percentage

DUBAI: Around 250 retailers including food and beverage outlets are joining hands with Dubai-based start-up to support local charities with their every transaction without any additional charges.

The recently launched scan and pay mobile application, Sociopay, powered by noqodi ensures that with every transaction, a percentage is donated to a charity of customer’s choice. The only Scan and Pay Mobile Payment App in the UAE that enables users to donate a percentage of every transaction towards a charity of their choice at no additional cost.

The Sociopay can be downloaded for free on Play Store and App Store. It creates a noqodi Wallet automatically, allowing users to link any payment method (card or wallet) for cashless and contactless payments at retail outlets, including restaurants, supermarkets, pharmacies and clinics.

The initiative is part of a bigger plan to add a number of UAE based charities to its network where the customers will donate their desired percentage of their total bill without any additional charges. Currently the firm has partnered with Dubai Cares, part of Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives as well as with Al Jalila Foundation, a global healthcare philanthropic organisation dedicated to transforming lives, was founded by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-president and Prime Minister of the UAE.

Shravan Charya, Founder and CEO, SocioLadder while announcing the details in a press conference in Dubai on Sunday said “Sociopay also welcomes registered charities from all over the UAE to be part of the App. The App makes it easy for customers to choose their charitable contributions to any charity. noqodi, Sociopay’s Payment and Wallet Partner, allows for highly secure transactions and strategic partner of Dubai Government and Smart Dubai Government.

Responding to a question, Shravan mentioned that the network of partners will be increased as talks are in progress with corporate sector to bring more retailers in the partnership to support more charities.
