Don’t crowd outside prayer places, Dubai residents told

The Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities in Dubai issued a statement explaining a list of the most important controls and precaution­ary measures for the Eid Al Fitr prayer for 1442AH, 2021AD, in Dubai, with adhering to taking all precaution­ary measures similar to Tarawih prayers, to maintain public health and safety.

According to the statement, the prayer spots will be opened 30 minutes before prayer and will be closed instantly ater it, while the women’s prayer places will be closed until further notice.

In the statement, the department warned the public not to crowd at the entrances and exits of the prayer places, and not to gather before and ater the prayer, stressing the need to adhere to all precaution­ary measures.

The department noted that the public can find out the names of the prayer places by exploring the department’s website or the department’s social media sites.

Moon sighting: The moon-sighting commitee has invited all Muslims in the UAE to sight the crescent of the month of Shawwal on Tuesday evening, 29th Ramadan, 1442 H, which correspond­s to May 11, 2021.

The commitee requested anyone who sees the crescent to contact the number 026921166 to be directed to the nearest court to record the testimony.

Dubai Municipali­ty: Dubai Municipali­ty has enhanced its preparatio­ns to receive Eid Al Fitr 2021 across all sectors of its work and facilities, to ensure that its services are accessible to all members of society.

Working hours during the Eid Al Fitr holidays have been set for major parks and leisure facilities of Dubai Municipali­ty.

The working hours at Safa Park, Zabeel Park, Mamzar Park, Mushrif National Park, and Creek Park will be extended from 8:00 to 23:00. Dubai Frame will be open from 9:00 to 21:00, while the Children’s City will be open from 9:00 to 20:00, and the Qur’anic Park from 8:00 to 23:00.

The working hours of Abattoirs in Dubai belonging to Dubai Municipali­ty on the first day of the Eid Al Fitr will be from 8:00 to 14:00, and on Friday from 7:00 to 11:00.

A group of smart apps cooperate with Dubai Abatoirs to deliver slaughtere­d animals to homes, and these apps include Al Mawashi, Turki, Shabab Al Freej, Dhabayih Aldaar and Al Anoud Slaughters.

Dubai Municipali­ty is all set to implement an action plan for cleaning the city during the days of Eid Al Fitr, by intensifyi­ng field supervisio­n efforts in executing cleaning work for all areas, including markets, water channels and beaches, in addition to ensuring the cleanlines­s of highways in the emirate.

It will also intensify inspection tours of markets and food outlets, with the aim of monitoring restaurant­s, sweet shops, bakeries, popular kitchens and the fruits and vegetables market, to ensure that they follow and meet all the food safety requiremen­ts set by the municipali­ty.

Dubai Customs: Dubai Customs announced the official working hours at its customs centres during the Eid Al Fitr holidays, to help individual­s and companies clear their goods without any delay.

Work will continue around the clock during Eid Al Fitr holidays at Deira wharfage, Dubai Creek Customs Centre, Hamirya Port Customs Centre, Jebel Ali Inspection Centre, TECOM (main gate no.3), container terminal No.2, and Air Customs Centres at Dubai Airports, Dubai Cargo Village, Dubai Airport Free Zone and Dubai flower centre.

Customer service centre at Port Rashid will be closed during the holidays, whereas the inspection centre will work around the clock. The same applies to Hata Customs Centre and the Customs Declaratio­ns Department who will work 24/7.

Earlier, out of its keenness to keep the public updated in regards to its services during Eid Al Fitr official holiday, the Integrated Transport Centre of Department of Municipali­ties and Transport in Abu Dhabi announced its Customer’s Happiness Centre’s working hours, MAWAQIF and Darb Toll Gate System implementa­tion timings, buses and ferries schedule during Eid official holiday.
