Sharjah Municipali­ty to conduct inspection campaigns during Eid

The municipali­ty has warned against dealing with freelance butchers, as they pose a threat to the health and hygiene of people and the community at large

The Sharjah Municipali­ty has completed preparatio­ns and arrangemen­ts for Eid Al Fitr, along with organised plans to provide services according to the best standards.

Thabet Al Tarifi, Director-general of the Sharjah Municipali­ty, stated that all sectors and department­s of the municipali­ty have made plans to welcome Eid Al Fitr, forming teams that work round-the-clock to deal with the public’s observatio­ns and inquiries. Their teams will conduct intensive inspection campaigns and visits covering various fields, including food establishm­ents, hair salons and beauty centres, as well as raising public awareness.

Ali Obaid Al Hamoudi, Director of the Institutio­nal Communicat­ion Department, explained that parks in Sharjah will receive the public according to preventive measures that ensure social distancing.

The municipali­ty has warned against dealing with freelance butchers, as they pose a threat to the health and hygiene of people and the community at large.

The municipali­ty also warned against using fireworks as they pose a danger to people, especially children. It called on the public to report any violations or remarks, to its call centre which is working round-the-clock.

DIA ASSIGNS 471 MOSQUES AND MUSALLAS FOR EID AL FITR PRAYERS: The Department of Islamic Affairs (DIA) in Sharjah has allocated 471 mosques and musallas in the Emirate of Sharjah for Eid Al Fitr prayers, 340 in the city of Sharjah and Al Hamriyah, 57 in the Central Region, and 74 in the Eastern Region.

The department also assigned a number of mosques and musallas to non-arabic speakers including Urdu, Malay, Tamil, and English.

The department stressed the need for worshipper­s to adhere to the precaution­ary measures, bring their private carpets, wear masks, and apply physical spacing while praying and confirmed that closure of women’s prayer areas and other service facilities in the emirate’s mosques is to be continued.

Eid prayers are performed at ( 05:51 am) in the city of Sharjah and Al Hamriyah area. Slight timing difference­s are to be observed in other areas of the emirate.

RAMADAN NIGHTS 2021 ATTRACTED OVER 50,000 VISITORS: The Ramadan Nights 2021, which recently concluded, atracted more than 50,000 visitors and more than 300 exhibitors, who displayed over 1,000 brands with exclusive discounts on a wide range of products.

Organised by the Expo Centre Sharjah with the support of the Sharjah Chamber, the exhibition ran from 22nd April to 8th May as part of the 31st Sharjah Ramadan Festival, and was grand success that contribute­d to revitalisi­ng the emirate’s retail sector ater achieving high sales that went beyond the exhibitors’ expectatio­ns.

“Ramadan Nights 2021 has further secured its position as one of the most important shopping destinatio­ns across the UAE. The exhibition has achieved all the intended objectives, including boosting commercial movement and domestic tourism and providing an outstandin­g shopping experience amid an awesome festive atmosphere,” said Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, CEO, Expo Centre Sharjah.

Al Midfa underlined that the Centre was keen to implement the strictest precaution­ary and preventive measures during the exhibition, and ensure visitor and staff compliance to maintain the health and safety of everyone.

Sultan Shataf, Director of Business Developmen­t & Marketing at Expo Centre Sharjah, pointed out that the exhibition offered a wide variety of activities, which helped atract a large number of visitors who expressed their satisfacti­on with the exhibition’s distinctiv­e and safe shopping experience­s.

The winners will be announced during the grand raffle draw that the Sharjah Chamber will organise on 14th May, 2021, at Sahara Centre Mall, he added.

SHARJAH RAMADAN 2021 EXPERIENCE­S REMARKABLE TURNOUT: The Sharjah Ramadan Festival 2021, which is organised by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCI), will conclude in less than a week ater experienci­ng a huge turnout of shoppers and visitors seeking to avail of its promotiona­l campaigns and atractive discounts on various types of consumer products.
