Islamabad reiterates support for Palestinia­ns

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan condemned Israel’s actions and called for Muslim nations to stand by the Palestinia­ns.

Prime Minister Imran Khan took to Twiter, saying: “We stand with Gaza and Palestine.”

Imran on Wednesday has expressed solidarity with the oppressed Palestinia­ns facing Israeli oppression and tyranny. In a post on socialnetw­orking website Twiter, the premier said Pakistan stands with the Palestine.

The prime minister also shared the hashtags of ‘ We Stand with Gaza’ and ‘ We Stand with Palestine.’ “I am Prime Minister of Pakistan and We Stand With Gaza, We Stand With Palestine,” he tweeted, , joining the millions of Twiterati who posted the similar messages of support for the Palestine under atack by Israel..

The Prime Minister also shared a post of famous linguist Noam Chomsky on the plight of Palestinia­ns that stated, “You take my water, burn my olive trees, destroy my house, take my job, steal my land, imprison my father, kill my mother, bombard my country, starve us all, humiliate us all but I am to blame: I shot a rocket back.”

Imran Khan, a day ago, in a telephonic interactio­n with citizens had strongly condemned the air strikes by Israel in Gaza that resulted in deaths and injuries of several innocent Palestinia­ns including children. He termed it a reprehensi­ble action during the Holy month of Ramadan following the increased restrictio­ns on the fundamenta­l freedoms of Palestinia­ns and the atacks at Al Aqsa Mosque.

He had also called upon the internatio­nal community to put an end to the blatant use of force and flagrant violation of human rights of the Palestinia­n people.

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi meanwhile urged Muslim nations to unite over Israel’s strikes on Palestinia­n civilian areas. Thousands of Pakistanis hold anti-israel rally in different cities of Pakistan.

Earlier, the Pakistan Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) strongly condemned the airstrikes by Israel on Gaza that resulted in deaths and injuries to so many innocent Palestinia­ns, including children.

Human Rights Minister Shireen Mazari tweeted: “State terrorism by Israel against Palestinia­ns continues unabated. Palestinia­ns prevented from praying in Al Quds mosque & killing of innocent Palestinia­ns in Gaza incl children - & all UN can do is express “concern”! OIC also needs to move beyond rhetoric on Palestine & Kashmir.”
