UAQ scores 97% in Life Quality Index
UMMALQUWAIN: Umm Al Qaiwain (UAQ) achieved progress in the Security Life Quality Index, which gauges the sense of security outside homes at night, reaching a score of 97.5 per cent in 2020, a 7 per cent increase compared to 2019.
This statement was made by Major General Sheikh Rashid Bin Ahmed Al Mualla, Commanderin-chief of the Umm Al Quwain Police, who presented various quality of life outcomes during a workshop held under the theme, “Security Life Quality in the UAE.”
During the workshop, Major General Al Mualla said that quality of life and related security issues are prioritised by the Ministry of Interior (MOI), which always aims to improve the community’s quality of life and achieve its sustainability, under the framework of the country’s vision. He then explained the key challenges facing security authorities and how to overcome them.
The workshop announced the planned launch of several initiatives aimed at achieving advanced positions in related indexes, which will improve the happiness of members of the community.
At the end of the workshop, Al Mualla commended the efforts of various administrations of the Umm Al Qaiwain Police, which helped improve the security life quality of the emirate.
The workshop was atended by several heads of departments and their deputies from the Umm Al Qaiwain Police.
Recently, the Umm Al Quwain Tourism and Archaeology Department has announced the start of construction of the new Umm Al Quwain National Museum in Old Umm Al Quwain, which will cover an area of 8,000 square metres.

Sheikh Saud Bin Rashid Al Mu’alla, the department has begun construction of the museum, which will enable tourists and visitors to explore the emirate’s history through advanced galleries supported by modern technology.
Expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2022, the museum will showcase the archaeological artifacts and historic discoveries found across the emirate that highlight Arab culture and heritage, he added. Sheikh Majid stressed that the museum will be among the UAE’S most important cultural atraction and will become an academic centre showcasing knowledge about human heritage, which would in turn enhance the emirate’s stature as a leading regional tourism hub.
