SHARJAH: Sharjah The Emirates School Establishment approved the schedule of the Smart Summer Classes Programme, ater activating it on Monday.

The programme targets grade 4-11 students in public and private schools, following the ministerial curriculum. It aims to raise the performance levels of students who have not passed the tests of one or more subjects during the final exams.

The programme is one of the assessment stages which supports students’ skills, and is implemented ater announcing the results of the final exams. It starts with enrolling students in a learning environment, in which they self-study through learning plaforms.

The Programme includes a set of learning resources, in addition to assessment procedures which help students improve their performance level, without a specific time. The final assessment is its last stage.

Recently, the Emirates Schools Establishment (ESE) announced the return of classroom education in government schools, effective from the academic year 2021-2022.

This is in line with the UAE’S orientation to return to normal life, following full coordination with the concerned UAE authorities.

The move will take into account the need to apply the precautionary and preventive steps and all necessary measures will be taken to ensure the safety of students, teachers and administrative staff.

A return-to-school protocol would be developed in co-operation with the Ministry of Education (MOE), the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority ( NECDMA) and local authorities and would be announced later on.

While the protocol will preserve the safety of students and teaching and administrative staff, the ESE works in direct cooperation with school principals, who play a key role in creating the appropriate atmosphere for training and increasing the efficiency of teachers and administrative staff. This is aimed at ensuring the optimal implementation of the protocol and encouraging students to return to school.
