Dubai Taxi centre features AI technology

DUBAI: Dubai Taxi Corporatio­n (DTC) at the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has fited its smart control and data analysis centre with ultra-modern technologi­es to cover the entire range of DTC’S services to customers. The design of the centre features artificial intelligen­ce technologi­es to step up the efficiency of operationa­l and monitoring processes of the DTC.

Abdullah Ibrahim Al Meer, Director of Operation and Commercial Affairs, DTC, commended the role of the centre towards realising the vision of the Government to rank Dubai as the happiest and smartest city in the world through the safe, reliable and smart use of technologi­es.

“DTC’S Control and Data Analysis Centre is equipped to manage taxis and school buses. The facility enables monitoring the conduct of drivers and their compliance with the regulation­s including the boarding and alighting of students and atendants from school buses, and tracking the route of the fleet,” he commented.

“The centre manages the operations of limousines and My Driver and In Safe Hands services. It also monitors the bus services that include the School Bus and Commercial Coach Services recently launched by DTC. Additional­ly, it picks up calls from drivers and directs them to the high-demand spots using digital technologi­es provided 24/7 to ease the mobility of clients.

“The DTC has mustered all efforts to establish a unique control centre capable of commanding and integratin­g all the existing and future transit modes and contribute to realising Operationa­l Excellence, the first strategic goal of the Dubai Taxi Corporatio­n,” added Al Meer.

Recently, in his capacity as the Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, ordered the payment of bonuses totalling over Dhs14 million to citizens whose taxi number plates are used by the Dubai Taxi Corporatio­n and Taxi Franchise Companies.

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will begin distributi­ng the 2020 bonuses to owners of 2,833 taxi number plates in addition to their annual dues during the Holy Month of Ramadan.

Mattar Mohammed Al Tayer, DirectorGe­neral and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of RTA, thanked Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum for his generous gesture.

“This bonus is one of several of His Highness’s gestures during Ramadan to enhance the welfare of citizens,” Al Tayer said.
