SHARJAH: Sharjah Charity International provided 10,000 Itar meals to workers in the Sajaa Industrial Area on Monday as part of the initiatives of its campaign on Eid Al Adha.

Rashid Saleh Bin Hammad, Director of the Resource Development Department, said, “The initiative aims to involve community members on this honourable occasion for Muslims, and to provide meals for workers. The association has been implementing this initiative on several occasions, noting that the initiative was well received by the workers, who expressed their happiness with this generous gesture.”

The Sharjah Charity distributed thousands of Itar meals during the holy month of Ramadan at 116 distribution points that include all cities and regions of the emirate.

Abdullah Sultan Bin Khadim, Executive Director, confirmed that the Itar project is one of the main programmes included in the campaign projects, as it emphasises the values of giving and is a favourite of donors. The association began distributing Itar meals at 116 distribution points that included workers in the headquarters.

Last week, the Sharjah Charity at the Women’s Union implemented the “Make them happy” initiative to distribute Eid gits to children of needy families, as part of the society’s initiatives during the Eid Al Adha campaign.

Aisha Al Huwaidi, Director of the Volunteering and Community Service Department at the association, said that the initiative is one of the volunteer programmes carried out by the association through the Department of Volunteering and Community Service, and aimed to distribute the Eid gits to 250 children of inmates of penal and correctional facilities who were subjected to executive judgments in cases of financial insolvency.

It has been included in the association’s Eid initiatives as an expression of the association’s desire to draw joy and happiness on the faces of these children and to make them happy on Eid.

The initiative was enriched with a cartoon character, which increased the sense of humour and fun with great participation children.
