Cloudy and hazy skies, rain likely in UAE today
ABU DHABI: The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has said that the weather on Thursday is expected to be partly cloudy in general and hazy at times during the daytime, with a chance of some convective clouds forming over some eastern and southern areas which may be associated with rainfall.
The NCM also indicated that the temperatures on Thursday in the UAE are expected to be in the range of 35-44ºc in Abu Dhabi, 35-45ºc in Dubai, 33-45 ºc in Sharjah, 34-45 ºc in Ajman, 33-44 ºc in Umm Al Quwain, 33-43 ºc in Ras Al Khaimah, 33-46 ºc in Fujairah and 33-43 ºc in Al Ain.
Temperatures may increase gradually, the NCM said, noting that amid a cloudy presence, light to moderate southwesterly to northwesterly winds, freshening at times blowing dust and sand are expected with a speed of 15 – 25 reaching 40 km/hr.
“The sea will be slight in the Arabian Gulf and slight to moderate in Oman Sea,” it added.
The weather on Friday is expected to be partly cloudy in general and hazy at times during the daytime, with a chance of some convective clouds forming over some eastern and southern areas maybe rainy at times, according to the NCM.
Light to moderate southwesterly to northwesterly winds are expected, freshening at times blowing dust and sand, with a speed of 15 – 25 reaching 40 km/hr. The waves will be moderate in the Arabian Gulf and in the Sea of Oman, the NCM added.
Partly cloudy in general and hazy weather is expected at times during the daytime on Saturday, with a chance of some convective clouds over some eastern and southern areas. Light to moderate southwesterly to northwesterly winds, freshening at times blowing dust, with a speed of 15 – 25 reaching 40 km/hr, are likely. The tide will be slight in the Arabian Gulf and in the Sea of Oman.
Separately, Abu Dhabi Police urged motorists to drive carefully during adverse weather conditions.
The police also urged drivers not to speed, and to drive below 80 kilometres per hour. It also stressed the importance of monitoring weather forecasts and safety instructions on its smart plaforms.
