Dubai Police ready to secure UAE’S Golden Jubilee Tour

DUBAI: The Dubai Police Security Commitee to secure the UAE’S Golden Jubilee Tour has revealed an integrated security plan to ensure the safety of all participan­ts during the activities of the tour in all its stages.

The plan was discussed during the periodic meetings of the security commitee, in the presence of all members and working teams from all government entites.

During the meeting, participan­ts were briefed on Dubai Police preparatio­ns and traffic and logistic arrangemen­ts and necessitie­s. Moreover, role and tasks were assigned among teams accordingl­y.

Colonel Jumah Bin Suwaidan, Acting Director of the General Department of Traffic, confirmed the necessity to ensure a smooth cooperatio­n with government and private partners to complete all traffic arrangemen­ts and procedures related to the tour.

Col. Suwaidan further explained that it was important to well coordinate timings and dates of streets closures, and to ensure the safety of cyclists while maintainin­g a smooth flow of traffic.

The Dubai Police are perenniall­y alert and quick to react to emergencie­s, raising their response levels to a new high. It shows their full-on determinat­ion to keep the emirate secure, and enhance its stature as an extremely safe place for residents and visitors from all over the world.

The Dubai Police’s emergency hotline 999 received 1,177,347 calls during the second quarter of this year, while the force’s non-emergency hotline 901 received 379,122 calls in the same period.

Officials of Dubai Police’ Command and Control Centre said during the second quarter of 2021, Dubai Police’s emergency hotline 999 received 1,177,347 calls of which 99.6% were answered within 10 seconds, compared to 1,094,373 calls received during the same period last year.

These statistics were revealed during the Operations Department performanc­e appraisal meeting, headed by Eng. Major General Mohamed Saif Al Zafin, assistant commander-in-chief for Operations Affairs, in the presence of Eng. Major General Kamel Buti Al Suwaidi, Director of Operations, and a number of Dubai Police senior officers.
