Shilpa denies being involved in husband’s X-rated business
MUMBAI: In a latest development in the controversial porn case involving Shilpa Shety’s husband Raj Kundra, the Bollywood actor has denied her involvement with the company or its nature of content and has pointed fingers at Kundra’s brother-in-law.
Ater a court hearing on Friday, the Crime Branch team raided the Juhu residence of Shilpa and Raj. The investigative team is looking for money trail and corresponding emails, which will incriminate the accused and his alleged involvement in pornographic content.
According to police sources, Crime Branch officials recorded Shilpa Shety’s statement in the case. The actor has denied her involvement in the company, claiming she was not aware of the exact content of Hotshots.
She also mentioned that erotica is different from porn, for which her husband has been accused of, and he is not involved in producing porn content.
Sources claim that Shilpa Shety named Raj Kundra’s brother-in-law Pradeep Bakshi for running the functioning of the app and its operations.
Ater the case came to fore, Shilpa Shety Kundra resigned from her husband’s Viaan Industries, and stepped away from her active entertainment projects involvement, which included a television reality show and her current film.
Years ater cricket beting fiasco, Raj Kundra has been again named in a controversy and arrested by Mumbai Crime Branch in the alleged pornography case. The court has extended Raj’s police custody till July 27, along with his IT Head Ryan Thrope.
On the other hand, Shilpa Shety put up a brave face and made a fervent pitch for her film, Hungama 2. Clearly, she doesn’t want the controversy to singe the film’s prospects.
The actor took to Instagram to urge netizens to watch the film, which was released digitally on Friday. She said ‘Hungama 2’ was the outcome of the “relentless efforts of an entire team” and that the film “shouldn’t suffer.” The film has Paresh Rawal and Shety playing the principal characters.
“I believe in and practise the teachings of Yoga. The only place where life exists is the present moment, NOW,” the actor stated in her Instagram post.
