UAE announces 1,507 new COVID-19 cases

ABU DHABI: The Ministry of Health and Prevention ( MOHAP) announced that it conducted 189,046 additional COVID-19 tests over the past 24 hours, using state-of-the-art medical testing equipment.

In a statement, the Ministry stressed its aim to continue expanding the scope of testing nationwide to facilitate the early detection of coronaviru­s cases and carry out the necessary treatment. As part of its intensifie­d testing campaign, MOHAP announced 1,507 new coronaviru­s cases, bringing the total number of recorded cases in the UAE to 670,108.

According to the Ministry, the infected individual­s are from various nationalit­ies, are in a stable condition, and receiving the necessary care.

MOHAP also announced 3 deaths due to COVID-19 complicati­ons, bringing the total number of deaths in the country to 1,916.

The Ministry expressed its sincere condolence­s to the family of the deceased and wished COVID-19 patients a speedy and full recovery. It called on all members of the society to cooperate with health authoritie­s, adhere to the instructio­ns and physical distance to ensure the health and safety of all.

MOHAP also noted that an additional 1,455 individual­s had fully recovered from COVID-19, bringing the total number of recoveries to 647,682.

More than 193.12 million people have been reported to be infected by the novel coronaviru­s globally and 4,307,906? have died, according to a Reuters tally.

Infections have been reported in more than 210 countries and territorie­s since the first cases were identified in China in December 2019 Russia confirmed 23,947 COVID-19 cases over the past day, bringing the total caseload to 6,102,469, the anti-coronaviru­s crisis center told reporters on Saturday.

The number of cases grew by 0.39 percent in relative terms.

Currently, 477,418 people are undergoing treatment in Russia.

Russia’s COVID-19 recoveries grew by 21,952 over the past day to 5,471,956.

Russia recorded 799 COVID-19 deaths over the past day versus 795 a day earlier, and the total death toll hit 153,095. The average mortality rate remained at 2.51 percent, according to the crisis center.
