Emirati becomes 8th millionair­e in money exchange centre draw

DUBAI: Fortune favours the brave, goes the ageold saying. Or in this case, the lucky ones. A UAE national has turned millionair­e in a promotion held by a money exchange company.

Hazza Slayem Alderei, a UAE national, won one million dirhams in the draw, which was attended by the representa­tives from the Dubai Department of Economic Developmen­t and Al Ansari Exchange, making him the company’s eighth millionair­e.

Hazza qualified to join the promo ater sending Dhs300 from the company’s branch located in Khalifa Street. In addition, Mariam Saif Almazrooei was revealed as the winner of the brand-new BMW X2 while Noredah Asiimwe and Wafa Abdelaziz Ismail bagged half a kilo of gold each.

Aside from the one-million-dirham cash prize, the BMW X2 and a kilo of gold, the money exchange centre also gave away iphone 12 devices during the promo’s weekly draw while five customers were selected to win an exclusive cash prize of Dhs10,000 each during the live draw. The lucky five were Mellany Zabala from the Philippine­s; Muhammed Erasseri from India; Mohamad Nouri Ouf from Spain; Jesuscoro Maghamil from the Philippine­s; and Afaq Umair from Pakistan.

Al Ansari Exchange, the Uae-based foreign exchange and worldwide money transfer company, held the draw to mark the end of its 2021 Summer Promotion, the biggest of its kind in the industry.

CANADIAN EXPAT IN DUBAI WINS US$1M EACH IN DUBAI RAFFLE: A Canadian national based in Dubai was announced as the latest US$1 million winner in the Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionair­e at the draw held today in Concourse B at Dubai Internatio­nal Airport.

Mr. Ibrahim T., a 42 year old Canadian national based in Dubai became the latest US$1 million winner in Millennium Millionair­e Series 364 with ticket number 3031 which he purchased on 6th July when he went to Jordan for a vacation.

A frequent visitor to Dubai for many years, Mr. T., who applied for Dubai residency last year, has been a regular buyer of Millennium Millionair­e tickets for 10 years now.

Mr. T. who runs a film distributi­on company with offices in Dubai, Jordan and Egypt was elated to hear of his win and commented, “I love Dubai and Dubai Duty Free! You’re amazing products and promotions. Thank you Dubai Duty Free for this win!”

Mr. T is the 9th Canadian national to win US$1 million since the start of the Millennium Millionair­e promotion in 1999.

Today’s Millennium Millionair­e draw was conducted by Dubai Duty Free’s Executive Vice Chairman & CEO, Colm Mcloughlin, COO Ramesh Cidambi, Executive Vice President - Corporate Services, Salah Tahlak and Sinead El Sibai, SVP – Marketing.

Following the Millennium Millionair­e draw, the Dubai Duty Free Finest Surprise draw was conducted for three luxury vehicles. Joining the draw line-up was Mona Al Ali, SVP - HR, Michael Schmidt, SVP - Retail Support, Sharon Beecham, VP - Purchasing and Zayed Al Shebli, VP - Loss Prevention and Corporate Security.

Mr. Abdolhosse­in Keshavarz, a 62 year old Iranian national based in Dubai won a Mercedes Benz GLS 580 4M (Polar White) car, with ticket number 0620 in Finest Surprise Series 1779, which he purchased online on 1st July.
