Ambitious nations always grow: VP

DUBAI: His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, said in a video in a hashtag on Instagram, with the name, #Flashes of Thought: “Ambitious nations do not stop at what they have achieved, what we accomplish­ed is not to be mentioned now. Past has passed, and history writes the present and the future. We have a clear strategy and strategies change. Our understand­ing of time of this journey, we find that we must be one of the best countries in the world, why not? We have the energies, the knowledge and the experience.”

Sheikh mo hammed launched the hash tag# flashes of Thought on his Instagram account to share part of his life, practical experience­s, and leadership vision with the public.

UAE, TOGO EXPLORE TIES : Faure Gnassingbé, President of Togo, has received in Togo’s capital, Lome, Maj. Gen. Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Inspector General of the Ministry of Interior and the UAE’S candidate for the presidency of the Internatio­nal Criminal Police Organisati­on (Interpol).

During the meeting, the sides discussed a number of issues of common interest towards strengthen­ing relations between their countries in security and police fields.

The President of Togo expressed his deep appreciati­on for Al Raisi’s visit, and his country’s keenness to enhance their relations.

Major General Al Raisi’s visit also included meetings with Damehame Yark, Togo’s Minister of Security and Civil Protection, and a number of officials from Togo’s police sectors. The meetings focused on ways to expand the overall cooperatio­n between the UAE and Togo, along with coordinati­on and cooperatio­n with internatio­nal organisati­ons to drive global efforts to enhance security and safety and combat crime.

Recently, Faure Gnassingbé, President of Togo, inaugurate­d the Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Power Plant, a 50MW solar photovolta­ic (PV) plant in Blita, Togo, marking the country’s first utility-scale renewable energy project developed by an Independen­t Power Producer (IPP), and one of the largest solar PV IPP plants in West Africa.
