It is a huge honour for the United Arab Emirates to host the UN Climate Change conference in 2023 (“UAE wins bid to host UN Climate Change conference in 2023, Nov. 12, Gulf Today website).

The UAE has won the bid to host the 28th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change ( COP 28) in 2023.

The news was announced by UAE Special Envoy for Climate Change Sultan Al Jaber on Twiter, “I am honoured to express our deep appreciati­on for choosing the UAE to host COP 28.”

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai said on Twiter, “We congratula­te the UAE for winning the bid to host the world’s most important global climate conference COP28 in 2023. Our nation deserves it. We will spare no efforts to make the conference a success. The UAE will remain commited to global climate action to protect the planet.”

Climate Change is the biggest challenge the world is facing nowadays. The United Arab Emirates plays a key role to save the world from climate change disaster. I would like to congratula­te the visionary leadership of the United Arab Emirates on hosting the UN Climate Change conference in 2023.
