Veteran actor Asghar passes away in Lahore

LAHORE: Veteran Pakistani actor Suhail Asghar passed away in Lahore on Saturday ater a prolonged illness.

According to his family, Asghar was hospitalis­ed during the past week due to deteriorat­ing health condition.

His funeral prayers will be held in Lahore on Sunday, according to family sources.

Asghar began his career in the showbiz industry as an RJ for Radio Pakistan and later joined TV.

Asghar was known for his roles in TV serials Khafa Khafa Zindagi (2018), Teri Meri Love Story (2016), Aap Ki Kaneez (2014), Aashti ( 2009) and more.

He appeared in his first movie named Murad in 2003.

According to Wikipedia, He got award for outstandin­g performanc­e at The 1st Indus Drama Awards for this film.

He got best actor award for the year 2002 at the 12th PTV Awards show organised to mark 40 years of Pakistan Television.

Showbiz personalit­ies and his fans expressed their condolence­s on social media.

Actors Ahsan Khan, Sana Javed, Asad Siddiqui and Rabia But took to social media to expressed their grief over the actor’s demise.

Actors Faysal Quraishi, Feroze Khan, Ghana Ali and model Sadaf Kanwal remembered the actor as well.

Faysal Quraishi tweeted a picture of Asghar, stating, “Suhail bhai is no more.”

Actor Ahsan Khan posted on Instagram, “The iconic Suhail Asghar. RIP. Allah Hafiz.”

“Saddened by your demise. Worked in so many projects with you and you taught me so much. Farewell, my teacher and rest in peace,” tweeted famed actor Mohib Mirza.

Last year in May, Sohail took to social media to request his fans and followers for prayers.

Asghar shared a photo of himself from the hospital, stating that he would be undergoing stomach surgery.

“Fans, friends and family, Allah Almighty is with me always. I strongly believe in miracles. I believe in the power of love and prayers,” he wrote in a Facebook post.
