AJMAN: The General Headquarters of Ajman Police honoured a police cop from the Special Tasks Department for rescuing an Arab who was exposed to drowning in the Ajman Sea. He provided him with the first aid on the spot.

Brigadier Mohammad Shaiban Suwaidan, Director of Human Resources Department, in the presence of Major Mohammad Hussain Al Shamsi, Head of the Special Tasks Department, honoured the police cop Ahmed Mohammad Al Ghafli in appreciation of his heroic role in rescuing a person from drowning.

Others were also honoured including Assistant Ahmed Abdullah Al Amiri, Sergeant Ali Mohammad Al Madhani, and Corporal Abdul Rahman Al Blushi.

This comes within the framework of honouring distinguished performers of their duties and in appreciation of their responsibility and interest in community issues.

In the details, the police cop Al Ghafli, who was on duty in a regular tour of the special tasks patrol, hurried towards the sea when one of the beach goers called for help to rescue a man who was exposed to drowning. He found that the man was unconscious and his heart stopped beating, so he provided him with first aid and continued to revive him until the ambulance arrived and he was transferred to Sheikh Khalifa Hospital.

For his part, the rescued man expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Ajman Police, stressing that what the police cop did was a heroic act that stemmed from his sense of patriotism and responsibility towards members of society and their safety, wishing Ajman Police and its chief continued success.

Recently, in a separate development, two smart robots were launched at the Vehicles and Drivers Licensing Centre at the Ajman Police General Command.

The move aimed at harnessing the artificial intelligence to serve clients, to achieve the strategic aim of the Ministry of Interior (MOI) and promote customer’s happiness about the provided services.

Brigadier General Khalid Mohammed Al Nuaimi, deputy director of Police Operations at Ajman police said the two robots are aimed mainly to help clients to get the services they need.

Colonel Sultan Khalifa Abu Muhair, director of the Vehicles and Drivers Licensing Department, explained the first robot can talk. It welcomes clients of the centre.

“It also answers inquiries and provides all information about the services provided at the centre, such as opening a traffic file or enquiring about a traffic fine,” Abu Muhair pointed out.
