Ministry’s move to bolster family coherence stronger
His Highness Sheikh Saud Bin Rashid Al Mu’alla, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Umm Al Quwain, was briefed about the plans, programmes and achievements of the Ministry of Community Development, to promote family coherence and provide distinguished social services to families nationwide.
Hishighnesssheikhsaudhighlighted–duringhis meeting with Hessa Bint Essa Buhumaid, Minister of Community Development – the significance of the ministry’s key role in strengthening social wellbeing and family and community coherence, as well as supporting the process of national development.
He also instructed those concerned to improve the services provided by the ministry, in line with the approach of the country’s leadership, which prioritises the community.
Minister Buhumaid thanked Sheikh Saud for supporting the ministry’s plans, which will help support its role in strengthening social action, through developing comprehensive policies and providing distinguished social services.
The meeting was atended by a number of senior officials.

MASS WEDDING IN AL AIN: In another development, as part of its commitment to consolidate the culture of mass weddings and reduce wedding costs, the Ministry of Community Development in support of Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, organised the 17th mass wedding for Al Qua’2wa Area in Al Ain recently.
The mass wedding assures the ministry’s vision to embody community responsibility and strengthen effective community partnership with all entities especially the private sector in an effort to support young future spouses and its keenness to encourage the marriage of Emirati citizens. One of the important objectives of mass weddings is to consolidate the happiness and stability of Emirati families to achieve their wellbeing and reduce the costs of marriage ceremonies in general.
The Ministry of Community Development is keen annually to hold mass weddings in various emirates all over the UAE to confirm the approach of mass weddings as a national phenomenon, establish authentic principles and traditions in the community and contribute to reducing the costs of marriage ceremonies towards building stable families and development of the community in various fields. The Ministry urges the UAE community of the private sector and individuals to support mass weddings to promote and achieve the happiness of Emirati families.
It is noted that the Ministry of Community Development supports young future spouses and community members through family stability and cohesion of the society, as part of fulfilling the aspirations of young people. The ministry’s services targeting families and young people include marriage grants, mass weddings, participation in ‘eddad’ pre-marriage for future spouses, family consultation request..etc.
The website of the Ministry of Community Development www.mocd.gov.ae provides the service to request participation in mass weddings, organised all over the UAE as part of its strategy to strengthen the status of Emirati families, consolidate bonds among community members, and support the ambition of young men and women to form a stable family and reduce their financial burden in compliance with the development index “a cohesive family and coherent community”.
A recent report says the Ministry of Community Development launched the “Community Summer Plaform”, which includes a variety of initiatives and events, implemented by the Ministry in several emirates in collaboration with its partners from government and private sectors and NGOS targeting all family members, children, youth and senior citizens from 3rd July until 31st August 2022.
The Ministry targets (10,000) people in (200) activities over (8) consecutive weeks, distributed in (30) locations all over the UAE such as centres, senior citizens’ clubs and partner centres. This year, the plaform promotes volunteering culture and community responsibility among members of the community; it also supports the needs and aspirations of individuals in order to achieve greater benefits during the summer period and using leisure time in beter ways with their families and society at large.
