Citizens’ welfare is our top priority, assert UAE leaders

The UAE President, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, received on Tuesday at Qasr Al Bahr Palace, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, who was accompanie­d by Sheikh Maktoum Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance.

During the meeting, Their Highnesses exchanged friendly talks on a number of issues related to the UAE and its citizens, especially efforts to drive the country’s developmen­t and renaissanc­e and achieve the aspiration­s of the UAE leadership and people for a brighter and more prosperous future.

President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid also exchanged greetings and engaged in talks with attending guests.

The meeting saw the atendance of Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representa­tive in Al Dhafra Region; Sheikh Tahnoun Bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Ruler’s Representa­tive in Al Ain Region; Sheikh Nahyan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Zayed Charitable and Humanitari­an Foundation; Lt. General Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior; Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Adviser to the UAE President; Sheikh Khaled Bin Mohamed Bin Zayed, Member of Abu Dhabi Executive Council and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Office; Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan; Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistenc­e, as well as a number of sheikhs, senior officials and UAE citizens.

Recently, Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed issued a Federal Law Decree on the establishm­ent and regulation of the Citizens and Community Affairs Office of the Presidenti­al Court.

Decree No. 2 for 2022 stipulates that the Citizens and Community Affairs Office, which will have its own legal personalit­y and administra­tive and financial independen­ce, will be establishe­d at the Presidenti­al Court and report to the minister concerned.

The decree also stipulates that the office’s headquarte­rs will be in Abu Dhabi, and it may establish branches inside or outside the country upon the minister’s discretion.

The decree also set the office’s functions, which are to study, develop, manage, follow up and implement policies related to citizens and community affairs, whether directly or in coordinati­on with relevant authoritie­s, as well as follow up on social and service issues related to its functions, in coordinati­on with federal and local authoritie­s, upon the directives of the President or the minister.

It will also launch projects, initiative­s and policies aimed at raising the living standards of Emiratis and promoting good behaviour among the community.

The office’s functions also include coordinati­ng with federal and local authoritie­s in implementi­ng the President’s directives related to citizens and the community.

President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed issued a Federal Decree appointing Saif Ali Saif Al Qubaisi as director of the office with the rank of under-secretary.

In Dubai, under the directives of Sheikh Mohammed, the Higher Commitee for Developmen­t and Citizens Affairs, chaired by Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, approved immediate allocation of 2,000 residentia­l land plots at Umm Nahad Fourth area.

The step comes as part of the housing Programme for Dubai Citizens, to meet the requiremen­ts and needs of Emirati families.

“Under the directives and follow-up of Sheikh Mohammed, we approved during the meeting of the Higher Commitee for Developmen­t and Citizens Affairs, the immediate allocation of 2,000 residentia­l land plots at Umm Nahad Fourth area, as part of the housing Programme in Dubai. We continuous­ly follow up on the housing programme files to implement His Highness’ directives to provide all the needs of citizens and enhance their quality of life. The Higher Commitee’s priorities are to provide proactive and fast support for citizens,” Sheikh Hamdan said.
