Many regions of UAE witness heavy rain
ABU DHABI: Separate areas of the country were lashed on Tuesday by light and heavy rains, with dusty winds which started at 11am and continued until 7 pm on Tuesday.
Cumulonimbus clouds were also formed and lasted about 9 hours, as a result of the country being affected by the extension of a shallow air depression from the east accompanied by an air depression in the upper layers of the atmosphere.
On Tuesday, winds were southeasterly, active and strong at times, with a speed of 60 kilometres/hour, and the sea was turbulent to very turbulent at times, as the wave height reached 8 feet.
The Ministry of Interior called on motorists to follow traffic instructions in unstable weather conditions to arrive safely and to take precautions like reducing speeds, avoid going to the sea and beaches, and avoid places of flowing valleys and water pools, especially in rains and winds of varying intensity.
The National Meteorology Centre (NCM) clarified that the weather instability will continue till Wednesday, as the weather will be partly cloudy to cloudy, with the formation of convective rainy clouds in separate areas of the country, with a noticeable decrease in temperatures and the activity of clouds and dust, which leads to a decrease in the horizontal visibility.
On Wednesday, winds will be southeasterly to northeasterly, moderate to brisk and strong at times, with a speed of 25 to 35, amounting to 60 kilometres/hour.
The waves will be turbulent to very turbulent at times with cloud activity in the Arabian Gulf and in the Sea of Oman.
