Ras Al Khor fire brought under control

DUBAI: Dubai Civil Defence teams brought under control a fire that had broken out in a wood warehouse in the Ras Al Khor area in Dubai.

Earlier, the Dubai Civil Defence’s operations room received a report at 3:16pm stating that a fire erupted in the Ras Al Khor area 2.

Fire tenders from the Nad Al Sheba Firefighti­ng Station rushed to the scene of the incident and arrived there at 3:22pm in 6 minutes.

Firefighti­ng engines from Al Rashidiya and Al Quoz stations soon followed.

A Civil Defence source stated that the thick smoke billowed into the sky from the warehouse containing flammable material, adding that the field commander confirmed that the fire was brought under control at 4:31pm.

No casualties were reported as a result of the fire.

The firefighte­rs did not leave any stone unturned to make sure that the life and property of the adjoining places were safe.

The teams later started dousing the site so as to be referred to the competent authoritie­s for further investigat­ions.
