20 hotels provide 827 housing units to 1,885 people
SHARJAH: The UAE authorities said that buses have been provided to ferry flood-affected residents to hotels.
The National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) said, “Buses belonging to the Ministry of Community Development have also been provided, which, in addition to the many means of transportation available in the affected areas, have been provided to speed up the transportation of families and ensure the safety of all their members.”
It also said a provision of 56 buses are ready in the event of any developments that require an increase in the number.
The ministry has also coordinated with over 20 hotels to provide 827 housing units to over 1,885 people nationwide and has provided buses and other means of transportation in the affected areas to help transport families, he added, affirming that 56 buses are ready in case of any developments that could require their use.
The NCEMA said, “We commend the efforts of the Ministry of Community Development, which since yesterday evening, Wednesday, has been sheltering families affected by rain in the eastern regions of the country, where the teams have moved and rescued 150 people from the affected areas to hotel housing units, with continuous work to provide their needs after transportation.”
It also said, “We commend the role of all national and local authorities that work and contribute to containing the repercussions of the weather situation, through continuous monitoring and tracking operations.”
All parties at the national and local levels continue to follow up and monitor the weather situation, follow up on its changes, and ensure that all preventive measures are taken to ensure mitigating its impact on various regions.
The National Centre of Meteorology said, “We would like to point out that, based on continuous follow-up and real-time monitoring of all weather conditions in the country, the Centre issued the first weather report on the weather on July 23, explaining its causes and possible effects on the country to all relevant state agencies.”
The National Centre of Meteorology said 20 warnings were issued from the beginning of the situation, 70 alerts on social media in addition to the various media.
