Sultan approves 144 new grants for Khorfakkan varsity citizens
SHARJAH: His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, approved the second batch of grants for citizens at Khorfakkan University, which includes 144 grants, bringing the total to 649 grants approved to date.
The grants were announced through the “Direct Line” programme, which is broadcasted on Sharjah Broadcasting Authority.
In an unrelated development, Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah, affirmed that the university will continue its advanced educational path drawn, for many years ago, by its founder, Sheikh Sultan, within an integrated strategy that attracts the competent scholars in all fields, and supports teaching and administrative staff, and university students.
This came during a meeting of Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed with the new faculty members at the University of Sharjah, in the presence of members of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Hamid Majoul Al Nuaimi, the University’s Chancellor, his deputies and a number of officials.
Welcoming the new staff and the atendees, the President of the University of Sharjah stressed that the university provides all support and services to its faculty members to enable them to perform their tasks at the required distinguished level.
Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed echoed the efforts of the Emirate of Sharjah, under the leadership and directives of His Highness the Ruler, to atract prestigious institutions and scientific centres and elite scholars and professors in various fields, which made Sharjah a leading cultural and scientific capital with its various institutions, including the University of Sharjah.
The President of the University of Sharjah pointed to the need to care for students, as they are the most important element in the educational process; they are the ambassadors of the university everywhere and those who hold its good reputation. He urged the faculty members to communicate with all parties of the university community, including administration, students and professors, for the benefit of the university, and to benefit from the various efforts that the University of Sharjah continues to excel in, and to benefit from various efforts that cement the university’s excellence.
He underlined the importance of paying atention to the use and application of modern and advanced teaching and learning methods and techniques, which contribute to developing the advanced capabilities of students, keeping pace with the new generations, and providing a scientific study that keeps pace with the university’s systems.
