Coordinati­on Council for Family Policies convenes

DUBAI: The second meeting of the Coordinati­on Council for Family Policies in 2022, chaired by Hessa Bint Essa Buhumaid, Minister of Community Developmen­t and Chairman of the Council, reviewed the most prominent developmen­ts related to the pre-marriage joint preparatio­n plaform in addition to the drat decision concerning the licensing of family counsellor­s to be accomplish­ed by the Ministry in the near future.

The meeting which was atended by competent members from ministries and local authoritie­s, they discussed the challenges facing family members in the surroundin­g circumstan­ces and the importance of creating a joint research and studies plaform to be beneficial and useful for all the members of the council in order to obtain any data related to family issues.

Hessa Buhumaid emphasized the necessity of promoting joint work among all related authoritie­s to benefit from their experience­s in pertaining issues to family members and at the same time transfer this positive expertise to relevant authoritie­s all over the nation.

She reviewed the updates of the pre-marriage joint preparatio­n plaform and the drat decision concerning the licensing of family counsellor­s in the Ministry of Community Developmen­t as well as some suggestion­s concerning ways of marketing for the program and its sustainabi­lity.

She also gave a brief overview about the GCC Family Day, and the important participat­ion of all members of the Coordinati­on Council for Family Policies in this day coinciding 14th September each year which was recently approved and held last month in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the event was remarkably participat­ed by the UAE delegation.

In relation to the “family challenges”, some questions were addressed to the members of the Council to speak about their point of views, opinions and experience­s. As such, they highlighte­d the different challenges and mutual support in addition to the important role of research, studies and data in seting up policies and precedent solutions that enhance the stability of families and all their members.
