Internatio­nal Day for Tolerance celebrated

DUBAI: A large number of children of determinat­ion along with their family members took part in a day full of fun and interactiv­e activities to celebrate the Internatio­nal Day for Tolerance at the Rashid Center for People of Determinat­ion.

The series of activities were organised by the Rashid Center for People of Determinat­ion in collaborat­ion of the General Department of Human Rights, Dubai Police.

Major General Dr Mohammad Abdullah Al Murr, Director of the General Department of Human Rights along with other dignitarie­s attended the activities and admired the students of determinat­ions from different schools who gathered to celebrate the occasion.

A group of people from different nationalit­ies atended the activities in their national dresses to show the solidarity with the UAE on its celebratio­n of Internatio­nal Day for Tolerance.

Maryam Othman, Director Rashid Center received the guests and briefed on the educationa­l and rehabilita­tion programmes of the centre through a guided tour.

Sheikh Juma Bin Maktoom Bin Al Maktoom, member Board of Directors at Rashid Center was also present.

A group of artists from different nationalit­ies and part of Funun Arts, including Shiba Khan, Farah Khan, Anjali Litu and others, displayed their artworks and through paintings portrayed the true message of Tolerance.

Students of determinat­ion from other centres, including SNF Developmen­t Center, Al Noor Center for People of Determinat­ion and Senses Center, also participat­ed and exhibited their paintings while many other social organisati­ons showcased their artifacts.

A group of students from St Mary Catholic High School Dubai also participat­ed to display national atires of different countries.

A group of students from Rashid Center also presented stage activities including tableaus and received huge applause from the guests from different background­s.

The event was grand with the display of cuisine from different countries, including France, Italy, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and UAE.

“We are celebratin­g the Internatio­nal Day for Tolerance with our students of determinat­ion along with other four such centers in Dubai. We gave the opportunit­y for artists to display their paintings on the theme of tolerance during the exhibition,” Maryam Othman said.
