Dubai Police participat­e in NSRC 2022

DUBAI: As part of their participat­ion in the Internatio­nal Search & Rescue Conference & Exhibition (NSRC) 2022, the Dubai Police are showcasing their latest papers and innovative solutions that are designed for search and rescue operations and emergency response.

Expert Colonel Juma Ahmed Bin Darwish Al Falasi, Deputy Director of the General Department of Transport and Rescue, said their participat­ion is as per the directives of Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, the Commander-inchief of Dubai Police, to keep up with the latest innovation­s and exchange experience­s in the field of rapid response to accidents and search and rescue operations. He also explained that their stand at the NSRC is also featuring a paper on dealing with CBRN materials.

Running from 21 to 22 November at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, the NSRC conference and exhibition aims to atract specialize­d speakers from local, regional and internatio­nal levels as well as exhibit companies from around the world to highlight capabiliti­es, experience­s and lessons learnt.

MAN FETED FOR FOILING ROBBER’S BID TO STEAL DHS2.7 MILLION: A delegation of Dubai Police senior officers surprised Keshur Kara Chavada Karu Ghela, an Indian national, at his workplace to honour him for his brave act in foiling a criminal’s atempt to rob a person’s bag containing Dhs2,757,158 in Dubai.

Headed by Expert Major General Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Assistant Commandant-in-chief for Criminal Investigat­ion Affairs, the delegation included Major General Dr Adel Al Suwaidi, Director of Jebel Ali Police Station, Director of the Dubai Police Council of Police Stations Directors; Dr Major General Tariq Tahlak, Director of Naif Police Station; Brigadier Abdullah Khadim Sorour, Director of Bur Dubai Police Station, and a number of senior officers.

Maj. Gen. Al Mansouri hailed Keshur who helped arrest the thief by tackling him and pinning him to the ground until the police patrols arrived. He further lauded the young man’s efforts and courage in intercepti­ng the thief and foiling his atempt, indicating that his behaviour reflects his genuine commitment to the community and his wit in dealing with emergencie­s.

Maj. Gen. Al Mansouri explained that honouring Keshur in his workplace and among his colleagues and neighbours reflects Dubai Police’s keenness on strengthen­ing the concept of community partnershi­p and reinforcin­g the sense of responsibi­lity among individual­s.

According to Dr Major General Tariq Tahlak, the incident happened when two Asian men were in the Naif area carrying two bags containing Dhs4,250,000 in cash of different currencies. He indicated that the main suspect and his accomplice­s intercepte­d the Asians and snatched one of the two bags containing Dhs2,757,158.

“As the two Asian men shouted for help, Keshur saw the robber running with the stolen bag towards him, so he bravely tackled him, started wrestling with him, and pinned him to the ground until the police patrols arrived and made the arrest,” Maj. Gen. Tahlak said.

Keshur expressed his pride and joy for being honoured by Dubai Police senior officers among his colleagues and explained that this is a medal of honour that he will forever cherish.
