Education is key: President; Dhs1b Villages plan launched
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Wednesday atended the closing session of the UAE Government Annual Meetings 2022.
The meetings, which were held from Nov.22-23 in Abu Dhabi, saw Ministries, Executive Councils, and various federal and local entities gathering to discuss current challenges and develop a vision for the future of the UAE.
On its second day, the meetings discussed major topics related to the UAE’S comprehensive developmentprocess,inaccordancewiththevision and directives of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed.
Priority fields included education, Emiratisation, national economy, digital technology and cybersecurity, among other issues that have a direct impact on the future of development in the UAE; promoting wellbeing, enhancing the UAE’S competitiveness in all fields, and raising its readiness for the future.
The session on education witnessed the participation of members of the Education and Human Resources Council (EHRC), including Dr Ahmed Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of Education, Sarah Bint Yousef Al Amiri, Minister of State for Public Education and Advanced Technology, Shamma Bint Suhail Bin Faris Al Mazrui, Minister of State for Youth Affairs, and Sarah Awad Issa Musallam, Minister of State for Early Education.
The session participants discussed key future directions for the education sector and the potential challenges it faces.

“By harnessing innovation and investing in our people, the UAE’S journey of progress will continue,” Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed tweeted further.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid, affirmed that the education sessions were clear and transparent and drew an integrated map of the educational system.
“Today, I witnessed the annual meetings of the UAE government with my brother Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE. The education sessions with Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed and the ministers were clear, transparent, and drew an integrated map of the educational system,” Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid tweeted.
Sheikh Mohammed added: “Education will remain a priority with the vision of the President of the UAE... and with the efforts of a specialised government work team... with an active and interactive educational field... with a community and parents contributing to the upbringing of a generation that will lead us to new future horizons.”
Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid concluded his tweet saying, “I also witnessed the launch of the “Emirates Villages” project. Its aim is to develop Emirati villages in terms of development and tourism. The first group of villages will provide 500 economic projects for the young. The budget of the project is Dhs1 billion and it is led by Theyab Bin Mohamed Bin Zayed, Chairman of the Emirates Council for Balanced Development.
The ‘Emirates Villages,’ a Dhs1 billion project aimed at developing a sustainable development model and creating economic and business opportunities to promote social stability and well-being.
Sheikh Theyab Bin Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council and Chairman of the Emirates Council for Balanced Development, stated that the ‘Emirates Villages’ project represents a new milestone in achieving the ambitious vision of the UAE leadership by introducing a sustainable development model that accommodates all regions across the country, while utilising the human capabilities and natural resources of each region.
Sheikh Theyab said the Emirates Council for Balanced Development strives to achieve sustainable development for all regions through a unique development model based on partnerships between the government, private sector and local communities.
The project outlines five developmental tracks, through which the Emirates Council for Balanced Development seeks to create a micro-economy in 10 villages, achieve greater involvement of local communities, enhance the involvement of the private sector, and advance the sustainable development model by enhancing cooperation between federal and local governments.
