Rain in many areas for 3 consecutive days
ABU DHABI: Separate areas of the country witnessed, on Wednesday, for the third consecutive day, rains of varying degrees of intensity.
The rains were accompanied by brisk and strong winds, sometimes reaching a speed of 45 kilometres/hour, stirring dust, with turbulent sea waves, as a result of the unstable weather conditions which started last Monday.
Light rains started to fall at noon on Al Ainabu Dhabi Road towards Musaffah, on Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan International Street, south of Al Nof in Abu Dhabi, on Masfout and separate areas in Ajman, on East Filli in Sharjah and Hata in Dubai.
The lowest temperature in the country,13°c, was recorded on Wednesday, in Jebel Jais in Ras Al Khaimah at 05:30 UAE local time.
The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) stated that the highest amount of rains recorded in the country during the past three days amounted to 15.3 millimetres in the Emirate of Ajman, pointing out that the coming period will witness the possibility of cumulus clouds formation in some areas, with the possibility of fog or light fog formation in some inland and coastal areas with A slight decrease in temperatures by 2 to 3°C.
Thursday’s weather will be generally clear to partly cloudy, and some clouds will appear, especially in the east, which may be cumulus in the aternoon. It will be humid at night and on Friday morning, with the possibility of light fog formation on some inland and coastal areas, the NCM indicated.
Winds on Thursday will be light to moderate, northeasterly to northwesterly, at a speed of 10 to 20, reaching 30 kilometres/hour. The waves will be light in the Arabian Gulf and in the Sea of Oman. Friday’s weather, according to the NCM, will be generally clear to partly cloudy and humid at night and on Saturday morning, with the possibility of fog or light fog formation in some coastal and inland areas.
Winds on Friday are expected to be northwesterly to northeasterly, light to moderate, and the sea will be light in the Arabian Gulf and in the Sea of Oman.
The NCM affirmed the end of the unstable weather conditions which started last Monday as a result of the country being affected by a surface depression from the southeast, accompanied by moist southeastern and northeastern winds, and an extension of an air depression in the upper layers of the atmosphere from the west, which resulted in heavy rains with hail in separate areas of the country.
