SCCI receives Indian students

SHARJAH: The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) has received a student delegation from the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade and representa­tives of the Consulate-general of the Republic of India in the Emirate of Dubai. 30 male and female students were in the delegation to learn about the best practices and services provided by the SCCI to its members and affiliates.

The delegation was received by Fatima Khalifa Al-muqarrab, Director of the SCCI’S Internatio­nal Relations Department. They learned about SCCI’S history, its department­s, divisions, activities, its pioneering experience for the benefit of the business community, the services it provides to its members, and its tire less endeavor to enhances harjah’ s leading position as a regional hub for internatio­nal trade. Providing support to students Welcoming the visitors, Al-muqarrab said that the visit is part of the constructi­ve cooperatio­n and joint coordinati­on between the SCCI and the Indian consulate in Dubai, stressing that the SCCI’S doors are always open to students, as it follows a strategy that is based on providing support for students with their academic studies. The delegation members were briefed on the SCCI’S sponsorshi­p programmes for university students, such as the SCCI Award for Innovators, annually organised in cooperatio­n with the University of Sharjah, and its social responsibi­lity initiative­s to support students. They were also introduced to the SCCI’S efforts in furthering the emirate’s economic position and achieving comprehens­ive developmen­t, as well as its initiative­s to support the private sector.scci, represente­d by the Sharjah Export Developmen­t Center( sedc ), concluded recently its business mission to Uganda and Kenya, heading a delegation that included private sector representa­tives and a host of prominent manufactur­ers in Sharjah and the UAE.

The six-day mission was a hit for the SCCI as it helped explore new areas of commercial and industrial cooperatio­n with Kenya and Uganda in such many vital domains as energy solutions, technology, food security, iron and steel, and agricultur­e, as well as exploring new opportunit­ies for available investment­s, in addition to introducin­g the abundant economic advantages of Sharjah.
