Several regions in Sharjah in National Day celebrator­y mode

Flags will be raised in Bataeh Gardens and at the entrances to residentia­l areas and gardens, in addition to distributi­ng git bags

Al Bataeh, located in Sharjah, will host the 51st National Day celebratio­ns, starting from 26 November, and during 28 to 30 November, at Al Bataeh Park. The celebratio­ns include a parade includinga­llgovernme­ntdepartme­ntsandagen­cies, people of Al Bataeh, schools, the Sharjah Scouts Commission and the Military Band. The parade will also feature folk groups, horse shows, classic cars and tourist buses.

On this occasion, Muhammad Abdullah Rashid Halis Al Ketbi, Chairman of Al Bataeh Municipal Council stated: “We would like to congratula­te President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and to Their Highnesses the Members of the Supreme Council of the UAE, Rulers of the Emirates, Their Highnesses the Crown Princes, and all the people of the United Arab Emirates, and its residents.”

To celebrate the heritage of ancestors, from 9am on November 26, the people of Al Bataeh will stay in the desert for a full day to revive Emirati traditions and the lifestyle of the past.

From 4:30pm to 10:00 pm on 28-30 November, The “City sightseein­g Sharjah” Bus will depart from the Municipal Council and Al Bataeh Municipali­ty, touring residentia­l areas to distribute flags and National Day gits, in which planes will draw the national flag with smoke.

In Al Bataeh Public Park, celebrants will enjoy folklore segments and national artistic performanc­es and listen to patriotic poems. They will also witness the National March exhibition and the Union exhibition in cooperatio­n with the National Archives, and other accompanyi­ng events such as productive families’ corner, falcons’ corner, and Watani Alemarat corner, in addition to balloon shows.

The national flag will be drawn with flowers and writen with plants in a geometric shape in the gardens, popular dishes by productive families will be offered from the aternoon until ater the sunset. At the Arab Communitie­s Forum, which is held in cooperatio­n with the University of Sharjah, the participan­ts will witness the “The UAE: Home of Peace” show, which showcases the heritage and cultures of countries.

In conclusion of the evening activities, heritage performanc­es, children’s performanc­es and interestin­g competitio­ns are held in the gardens of residentia­l areas.

AL MADAM ANNOUNCE N-DAY FESTIVITIE­S: Al Madam, the inland town in the Emirate of Sharjah, will be hosting a range of celebratio­ns to mark the 51st UAE National Day. On November 29, Sharjah’s celebratio­ns will move to Al Madam so that the audience can enjoy the morning activities held at the municipali­ty headquarte­rs, such as police band music, military band performanc­es, and an art exhibition of pictures and drawings documentin­g the history of the Union. A crowd of Al Madam residents will participat­e in signing the allegiance charter, which symbolises love and renewed allegiance to the UAE, reminding the younger generation of the meanings of belonging.

In the evening, from 4pm-10pm, fun activities for families will be held at Al Madam Public Park. There will be a poetry evening, activities for children, and popular dishes from productive families, in addition to a Yowlah competitio­n, and several workshops.

Sultan Muhammad Bin Howiden, Chairman of Al Madam area Municipal Council, said: “In the midst of this rich festive programme, we commend the initiative of the people of Al Madam who chose to sign the allegiance charter on the UAE 51st anniversar­y, as a historical document showing great love for a great homeland and declaring the unity of the UAE people.”

According to an earlier report, Khalid Jasim Al Midfa, Chairman of the Sharjah National Day Celebratio­ns Commitee, said that the emirate is preparing to celebrate the annual National Day, which will include UAE citizens, residents and visitors.

In his statement to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), Al Midfa said that the annual celebratio­ns organised by the commitee are geting bigger every year.
