Cloudy skies, humidity at night likely: NCM
ABU DHABI: The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) reported that some coastal and inland areas in the country, on Monday morning were covered by dense fog, which lasted from 2:00 am until 9:00 am. It said that was because of the country being affected by a surface low-pressure system from the East and a surface high-pressure system from the West, accompanied with an extension of an upper air high-pressure system.
The fog was reportedly spoted in Hamim area in Al Dhafra region and in scatered areas in Abu Dhabi.
The lowest temperature recorded in the country on Monday was 11.8°C in Raknah area of Al Ain at 6:15 am, according to the NCM.
It has also expected that the weather on Tuesday will be partly cloudy in general, some clouds appear eastward by aternoon.
“Humid by night and Wednesday morning with a probability of fog or mist formation over some inland and coastal areas, while the winds will be light to moderate southeasterly to northeasterly winds, freshening at times with a speed of 10 – 20 reaching 35 kilometres/hour. The waves will be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and slight in the Oman Sea,“the NCM added.
On Wednesday, it is expected to be fair to partly cloudy at times, humid by night and Thursday morning with a chance of fog or mist formation over some inland and coastal areas.
The NCM also said that the winds would be light to moderate southeasterly to northeasterly winds, freshening at times with a speed of 15 – 25 reaching 35 kilometres/hour. The waves will be slight to moderate at times northward in the Arabian Gulf and slight in the Oman Sea.
On Thursday and Friday, it is expected to be fair to partly cloudy at times, temperatures tend to decrease slightly, humid by night and the early morning with a probability of fog or mist formation over some inland areas. Light to moderate northeasterly to northwesterly winds, freshening at times with a speed of 10 – 20, reaching 35 kilometres/hour. The waves will be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and slight in the Oman Sea.
