National Day event marked with traditiona­l enthusiasm

The celebratio­n was atended by a number of leadership and senior management and employees of the two ministries, as well as visitors and customers

Hessa Bint Essa Buhumaid, Minister of Community Developmen­t (MOCD), and Dr Abdulrahma­n Al Awar, Minister of Human Resources & Emiratizat­ion (MOHRE) participat­ed in the celebratio­n which was organised by the two ministries at their joint building in Dubai, on the occasion of the 51st UAE National Day falling on 2nd December every year. The celebratio­n was atended by a number of leadership and senior management and employees of the two ministries, as well as visitors and customers.

Hessa Buhumaid and Abdulrahma­n Al Awar toured the activities held on this national occasion featuring Emirati traditions and culture and characteri­zed by the spirit of patriotism, loyalty, belonging to the homeland and leadership.

The National Day ceremony held at the courtyard of the joint building of the two ministries in Dubai included a range of activities that express love for the homeland beginning with the national anthem performed by the Emirati musician “Khalid Bin Khadim” followed by national dances performed by students of the Emirates National School in addition to performanc­es and songs of popular and heritage bands as well as other activities that continued for 5 hours reflecting patriotism and devotion for the homeland.

The atendees and participan­ts in the 51st UAE National Day ceremony expressed their happiness and joy of this historical day that is firmly rooted in the memory of the UAE people, nation and residents.

PATRIOTIC ATMOSPHERE: In a distinguis­hed patriotic atmosphere, Dubai Electricit­y and Water Authority (DEWA) celebrated the 51st National Day, with the participat­ion of Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, Executive Vice Presidents and Vice Presidents.

Many employees and customers participat­ed in the celebratio­ns, which featured patriotic and heritage activities.

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer conveyed his sincere congratula­tions to President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum; Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai; Their Highnesses the Members of the Supreme Council and Rulers of the Emirates; Their Highnesses the Crown Princes; and all citizens and residents of the UAE on the occasion of the 51st UAE National Day.

“On this day, we feel the greatness of our glorious union that was establishe­d by the Founding Fathers, may their souls rest in peace, on the 2nd of December 1971. We are proud of our wise leadership, who continue the process of growth and developmen­t and have placed the UAE among the developed countries. The name of the UAE has become a synonym for excellence and prosperity, as well as anticipati­ng and shaping the future. Its experience has become a source of inspiratio­n for the countries and people of the region and the world, and its achievemen­ts are a source of pride for every citizen and resident of this generous land. The UAE tops global competitiv­eness indicators. This year, it ranked first in the world in 156 indicators and among the top ten in 432 indicators. The UAE also occupies the first place globally in atracting talent, infrastruc­ture, flexibilit­y of laws, and ability to adapt, among others,” said Al Tayer.

“At DEWA, we are proud that we contribute to making achievemen­ts that enhance the global status of the UAE through major projects and innovative initiative­s. These play an effective role in sustainabl­e developmen­t and consolidat­e Dubai’s position as a global hub for finance, trade, tourism, and a green economy. We are guided by our belonging to this generous country and our loyalty to the wise leadership motivates us to continue our sincere work to enhance the competitiv­eness of the UAE in various fields, inspired by the ‘Spirit of the Union’ as a driving force so that the UAE flag remains flutering high in gratitude to the spirits of the Founding Fathers, and in fulfilment of the vision and directives of the wise leadership,” added Al Tayer.

“We pray to Almighty Allah to continue to protect the UAE and bless it with security and safety and to direct our steps to continue our sincere efforts to promote the competitiv­eness of the UAE and make it the world’s leading nation by its Centennial in 2071,” concluded Al Tayer.
