Sharjah N-day celebrations commence at National Park

Sharjah’s 51st UAE National Day celebration ceremony were held on Tuesday at Sharjah National Park, in the presence of Sharjah National Day Celebrations Commitee members, led by Khalid Al Midfa, Chairman of the Commitee, and Tariq Saeed Allay, Vice Chairman of the commitee, the members of the commitee, a group of officials and eminent figures, and the general public.
The ceremony began with a speech by Khalid Jassim Al Midfa, which was followed by various shows and performances on the main theatre at the park. The celebrations also include the snow village, and ice sculptures of the main atraction, “Museums on the Road Corner” by Sharjah Museums Authority.
A musical performance entitled ‘Sultan of Giving’ about the achievements of His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, reflecting the urban, cultural, and environmental development achieved under his rule, was slated to be held. There will also be a performance called ‘New Era’, in addition to other daily activities from 4:30 pm - 10:00 pm on 29 November – 3 December. Other attractions include a snow village, snow sculpting of national landmarks, and a model of Sharjah landmarks, among others.
The celebrations at the Sharjah National Park will also include children’s theatre which will host fun shows, in addition to entertaining family competitions. A number of Sharjah government departments will participate in the National Day celebrations at the ‘Government Departments Corner’.
Atendees can observe miniature models of Sharjah Museums’ collections at the ‘Museums on the Road Corner’. At the hospitality tent, atendees will enjoy guided tours, cinema corner shows, daily raffles and prizes, snow sculpture garden, snow village, art sculptures of Sharjah landmarks, chess corner, a harpist’s performance, various art shows, in addition to water ball shows.
An earlier report says Al Bataeh, located in Sharjah, will host the 51st National Day celebrations, starting from 26 November, and during 28 to 30 November, at Al Bataeh Park.
On this occasion, Muhammad Abdullah Rashid Halis Al Ketbi, Chairman of Al Bataeh Municipal Council stated: “We would like to congratulate President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and to Their Highnesses the Members of the Supreme Council of the UAE, Rulers of the Emirates, Their Highnesses the Crown Princes, and all the people of the United Arab Emirates, and its residents.”
From 4:30pm to 10:00 pm on 28-30 November, The “City sightseeing Sharjah” Bus will depart from the Municipal Council and Al Bataeh Municipality, touring residential areas to distribute flags and National Day gits, in which planes will draw the national flag with smoke.
In Al Bataeh Public Park, celebrants will enjoy folklore segments and national artistic performances and listen to patriotic poems. They will also witness the National March exhibition and the Union exhibition in cooperation with the National Archives, and other accompanying events such as productive families’ corner, falcons’ corner, and Watani Alemarat corner, in addition to balloon shows.
Flags will be raised in Bataeh Gardens and at the entrances to residential areas and gardens, in addition to distributing git bags.
The national flag will be drawn with flowers and writen with plants in a geometric shape in the gardens, popular dishes by productive families will be offered from the aternoon until ater the sunset.

In the evening, from 4pm-10pm, fun activities for families will be held at Al Madam Public Park. There will be a poetry evening, activities for children, and popular dishes from productive families, in addition to a Yowlah competition, and several workshops.
