Frau dster jailed for du ping man

Abudhabi:thealainco­urtoffirst­instanceor­dered a man to pay Dhs6,500 to another.

According to the case file, the complainan­t filed a lawsuit against the appellee, in which he demanded that he pay him Dhs6,500, obligate him to return his passport, in addition to the fees and expenses of the lawsuit and lawyer’s fees. The complainan­t said that he agreed with the appellee to obtain a residence visa for him and on this basis he handed him Dhs6,500, but the later did not implement the agreement, which prompted him to file this lawsuit.

The lawyer of the appellant asked the court during the session to listen to the testimony of two witnesses who said ater taking the oath that they hardly knew the appellee, and that the complainan­t gave him Dhs6,500 in return for obtaining a labour visa, and that he obtained the approval, but did not complete the procedures for obtaining the visa.

When the court asked them about the content of the agreement that was concluded between the two parties, they testified that the agreement was in return for the appellee’s commitment to obtain a visa, set it on the appellant’s passport, besides geting an identity card for him.

Separately, the security teams at the Criminal Investigat­ion Department (CID) of the Umm Al Quwain Police recently arrested a gang of four Asians, who impersonat­ed cops to steal vehicles from their owners.

According to Colonel Saeed Obaid Bin Arran, Director of the CID, Al Salamah Comprehens­ive Police Station received a report from a person stating that he had been stopped while he was on Mohamed Bin Zayed Road in Umm Al Quwain.

“The man who stopped that person claimed that he was a cop and he asked him to get off the car because it is wanted, and then drove the car to an unknown destinatio­n,” Col. Arran added.

Followingt­heintensif­iedsearcha­ndinvestig­ation, the security teams of Al Salamah Comprehens­ive Police Station identified the perpetrato­rs, who were located in other emirates in the country. They were arrested, and the stolen vehicle was found and a numberofot­hervehicle­sthatwerei­ntheirposs­ession.

The suspects confessed to stealing the car, so they were transferre­d to the judicial authoritie­s for further legal actions.
