The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) organised a ceremony at its Dubai headquarters to celebrate the UAE’S 51st National Day with patriotic fervour and in line with the country’s cultural heritage.

The event, which was atended by a number of assistant undersecretaries, an adviser to the Minister of Health and Prevention, directors, staff, and several customers, kicked off with a speech by Dr. Salem Al Darmaki, Adviser to the Minister of Health and Prevention, during which he extended his warmest greetings to President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, as well as to the Rulers and Crown Princes of the emirates and UAE citizens on occasion.

Al Darmaki said the National Day is one of the most memorable occasions in the UAE as it celebrates the founding of a nation that has become a global role model while maintaining its national identity and authentic customs. Our country has been founded on noble values that formed the basis of our union. Thanks to the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the country’s founding fathers.

“As we celebrate the union anniversary of our country, we feel overwhelmed with joy, happiness, and pride. The UAE has been and will remain a symbol of nations’ development. It exceptionally realised successive achievements and developed unheard-of sustainable policies and strategies centering on the knowledge economy.”

“The UAE today is a leader across many competitiveness indices globally and has become an indisputable role model and a preferred destination for talented people with novel ideas and intriguing businesses who look forward to living in a country that places a high value on peaceful coexistence and the rule of law. This would not have been possible had it not been for the UAE’S wise leadership, which turned the UAE into an oasis of coexistence, tolerance, and openness,” Dr. Salem Al Darmaki said.

The celebration, organised in collaboration with strategic partners, comprised a series of cultural events and activities, including a national parade by MOHAP staff in which cavalry participated. This is in addition to a motorcycle display by the Dubai Police.

Separately, the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development celebrated the UAE’S 51st National Day, with the programmes presided over by Mohammed Saif Al Suwaidi, Director General of ADFD. Khalifa Al Qubaisi, the Deputy Director General; department directors; and other members of the staff took part in the celebrations.

In a speech, Al Suwaidi extended greetings to His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE; and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai; the members of the Supreme Council and Rulers of all the emirates, as he prayed for their long life. He expressed gratitude to the leadership that enables the country to keep its flag flying high and for its tireless effort to keep the nation secure and safe and enable its people to achieve all-around prosperity.

He said that December 2 constituted the most important milestone for the country, as it was on this day in 1971 that the UAE became a Union, following the historic announcement of Sheikh Zayed in the presence of the Rulers of other emirates.

Al Suwaidi highlighted the exceptional achievements of the country in every field, as he recalled the sincere effort of the leadership to lay down a clear plan for the nation’s progress and development, with the people at its centre, as well as through technological and scientific breakthroughs and global partnerships.

He said that Abu Dhabi Fund for Development, which is just as old as the UAE itself, had many achievements, which contributed to the consolidation of UAE’S global position, as well as the country’s economic development and sustainability.

Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) is a leading national financial entity owned by the Abu Dhabi government.
