SHARJAH: American University of Sharjah (AUS) celebrated the 51st UAE National Day at a special event held on campus on November 29.

Organised by the Emirati Cultural Club and the Office of Student Affairs, this year’s celebrations were held under the theme of “patriotism and unity” in line with the general theme of National Day celebrations across the nation.

The celebration was filled with activities highlighting the nation’s rich culture and heritage. Symbolic of local hospitality, the main entrance featured a walk-through light hallway and a traditional majlis. In addition, cultural stage performances, including a song performance by an AUS student and traditional Al-yola dance, were highlights of the evening.

“Our special thanks to the officers and members of the Emirati Cultural Club for hosting a celebration on campus for the AUS community to attend and express solidarity with this great nation and our appreciation to Shurooq for their contributions as a Gold Sponsor for the event” added Ismail.
