Dewa celebrates National Day with traditiona­l zeal

DUBAI: Dubai Electricit­y and Water Authority (Dewa) celebrated the UAE’S 51st National Day with various society segments. In a festive atmosphere, Dewa organised several visits to government and educationa­l institutio­ns. During the morning assemblies, Dewa raised the flag in a patriotic atmosphere and distribute­d souvenirs to the students, with the participat­ion of Noor and Hayat, Dewa’s mascots that represent electricit­y and water. Over 11,000 students and teachers took part in the celebratio­ns. Dewa also organised a virtual visit to Etihad Museum with the participat­ion of 30 educationa­l institutio­ns. The visit targeted 4,200 students to introduce them to the Union’s journey and its milestones, through interactiv­e exhibition­s and educationa­l programmes.

Dewa also celebrated National Day with People of Determinat­ion at two separate events. The first was at Mushrif Park, with 147 male and female students from the People of Determinat­ion Care and Rehabilita­tion Centre, and the second was at Al Noor Centre for People of Determinat­ion with 140 students. The two events featured competitio­ns on UAE’S heritage and history and included colouring workshops and various activities during which souvenirs were distribute­d.

Parents and staff participat­ed in the People of Determinat­ion events in addition to several government organisati­ons, including the Dubai

Road and Transport Authority (RTA), Dubai Police, Dubai Municipali­ty, and Dubai Customs. In addition to celebratin­g with society members, Dewa organised national and heritage activities for employees at several of its centres to mark the 51st National Day.

In a distinguis­hed patriotic atmosphere, Dubai Electricit­y and Water Authority (Dewa) celebrated the 51st National Day, with the participat­ion of Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, Executive Vice Presidents and Vice Presidents.

Many employees and customers participat­ed in the celebratio­ns, which featured patriotic and heritage activities.

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer conveyed his sincere congratula­tions to President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum; Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai; Their Highnesses the Members of the Supreme Council and Rulers of the Emirates; Their Highnesses the Crown Princes; and all citizens and residents of the UAE on the occasion of the 51st UAE National Day.

“On this day, we feel the greatness of our glorious union that was establishe­d by the Founding Fathers, may their souls rest in peace, on the 2nd of December 1971.”
