PEACEFUL REGION
Once again the terrorist atacks in Pakistan are on the rise. Pakistan has paid a huge price for restoring the law and order situation in the country.
Hundreds of armed forces and civilians have sacrificed their lives to bring about peace in the country (“Ater suicide bomb, Pakistan demands Talibanpreventatacks,”dec.2,gulftodaywebsite).
Pakistan on Thursday demanded neighbouring Afghanistan’s Taliban rulers prevent terrorist attacks coming from their soil, a day ater a suicide bombing in Pakistan’s southwest sent a wave of shock and anger across the country.
The bombing killed four people and appeared to target police protecting polio workers in the area.
Islamabad blamed the atack on the Pakistani Taliban fighters who are hiding across the border in Afghanistan.
The United States’ war on terrorism ended last year with hopes that Afghanistan will be a country where people live their lives peacefully, follow the rule of law of the country, and no groups will be allowed to carry out terrorist atacks in the country and abroad.
According to the report, at a news conference, Pakistani Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan said the latest claim by the Pakistani Taliban underlined the threat of Afghanistan turning into a haven for militants, despite its Taliban rulers saying they would prevent such atacks from their soil, ater they seized control of Afghanistan last year.
There is no doubt that Afghanistan and the people of Afghanistan have paid a huge price for fighting the war since the last four decades, but now the ball is in the Taliban government’s court to keep up with promises they have made with the international community for peace and stability.
An independent and peaceful Afghanistan is a guarantee not only for Afghanistan but also for the peaceful region.
I hope the Afghanistan government will understand the seriousness of the situation and take concrete measures to stop terrorist activities in the country and abroad.
