-

ISLAMABAD:FORMER prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-insaf (PTI) Imran Khan on Thursday wrote to President Arif Alvi, urging him to take note of alleged brazen interference by intelligence agencies and some other sections of the establishment in the political sphere.

The PTI senator Shibli Faraz sent the leter to the president’s house.

The leter stated that a resolution was passed in the joint meeting of the parliamentary party and core commitee. He wrote that the governor KP said that institutions will decide the date of the elections.

The PTI chief said in the leter that the resolution was passed to bring the PTI workers’ abduction, and fake cases, to your atention.

Furthermore, the leter stated that the resolution urges you to take notice of the basic constitutional rights violation.

Highlighting decisions of PTI’S core and parliamentary committees, requested the president to take notice of the alleged interference.

“PTI Core Commitee met and unanimously passed a resolution requesting you as president and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces to take note of brazen interference by intelligence agencies and some other sections of the establishment in the political sphere.”

“The most recent reflection of this was the KP Governor’s statement saying he cannot give a date for the elections to the KP legislature as that would be given by the intelligence agencies and the establishment.”

“The resolution also draws your atention to the brazen acts of abductions, sham FIRS, custodial torture, threats being meted out to PTI workers and leaders,” Imran said.

It is pertinent to mention that Islamabad police arrested the PTI leader and former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry from his residence for “threatening” Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) members.

A case against Chaudhary was registered at the Kohsar police station in Islamabad on the complaint of Secretary of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Omer Hamid Khan.
