Bringing communities of UAE, UK closer objective of Al Ameri
Dr Mohamed Salem Al Ameri holds a PHD in ‘Epigenetics’ for the diagnosis of leukemia in children from London College
President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, on Saturday, received Dr Mohamed Salem Al Ameri, who holds a PHD in “Epigenetics” for the diagnosis of leukemia in children from London College.
Al Ameri received his training at the Zayed Centre for Research into Rare Disease in Children, founded by Her Highness Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union (GWU), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF).
The Centre, which is one of the most prominent research centres in Britain, is an outcome of the partnership between Great Ormond Street Hospital, University College London and the Great Ormond Hospital Foundation for Children.
Dr Al Ameri said that the meeting he had with His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed, in the British capital, London, in 2021, at the centre established by Sheikha Fatima in London, was the motivation and support for him to continue his research and studies at the centre, which was completed successfully.
He expressed his gratitude to the prudent leadership for the care and concern provided for the UAE citizens, and for the endless motivation to continue work and achieve excellence.
He also shares his passion for learning and building bridges between the communities of the UAE and the UK, through the @UAESTEM group that he co-founded.
The group sheds light on the Emirati students in science, technology, engineering and mathematics disciplines, in various scientific forums in the United Kingdom.
PROTECTING ENVIRONMENT: President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, stressed the UAE’S commitment to protecting the environment and reinforcing the international efforts to achieve sustainability, confirming that it is firm, continuous and effective for the interest of the people of the UAE and the humanity in general.
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed, on Saturday, on twitter said, “As the UAE marks National Environment Day, we remain committed to advancing innovative solutions to benefit current and future generations. This crucial work will continue at COP28, as we invite the world to come together in pursuit of a more sustainable future.”
UAE PRESIDENT RECEIVES PHONE CALL FROM PRESIDENT OF KAZAKHSTAN: President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Saturday received a phone call from Kassym-jomart Tokayev of the Republic of Kazakhstan, during which they reviewed the prospects of furthering cooperation ties between the two countries in various fields that serve their mutual interests and strategic partnership.
The two leaders also addressed a number of issues of interest during the call.president of Kazakhstan expressed his delight at the recent visit he paid to the UAE, during which he followed up on the vital joint projects between the two countries.
The two sides affirmed their keenness to develop the Uae-kazakh relations, which have been steadily growing over the past three decades in various development, economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian fields, and derived their strength from the common visions both nations have shared on ensuring sustainable development and prosperity for their peoples.
UAE PRESIDENT, VP CONGRATULATE SRI LANKAN PRESIDENT ON INDEPENDENCE DAY: President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan has sent a message of congratulations to President Ranil Wickremesinghe of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, on the occasion of his country’s Independence Day.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, sent similar messages to President Wickremesinghe and to Dinesh Gunawardena, Prime Minister of Sri Lanka.
