Man to pay firm Dhs53,596

- Abdulrahman Saeed,

ABU DHABI: Abu Dhabi Court for Family, Civil and Administrative Cases obligated an employee to pay a compensation of Dhs53,596 to the company he worked for, which was in the field of real estate.

The employee agreed with a female client to complete the process of purchasing a property in return for a commission for the company, but he took the client to another brokerage company, claiming that it was another branch of his company and took the commission for himself.

The details date back to the time when a company filed a lawsuit against one of its employee, requesting that he be obligated to pay it Dhs53,596, a legal interest of 12%, and the fees and expenses of the lawsuit and the lawyer’s fees.

The company said that the appellee was working for it and agreed with a client to complete the procedures for purchasing a property worth Dhs906,596, with the company’s commission of Dhs47,596.

He then asked the purchaser for his commission and she gave him Dhs6,000.

The plaintiff company then contacted the brokerage company to collect its commission, but it was told that the property had been sold through another company.

When communicating with the client, she said that the appellee took her to another brokerage company claiming that it was a branch of his company.

The court explained that it has the right to obligate the appellee to compensate the company for all the damages it incurred, and ater it became sure that the appellee commited that mistake due to which the company suffered material damages proved by the consultant’s report, as it did not receive the commission, so it obligated the employee to pay Dhs53,596 to his company in compensation for all the material damages it incurred.
