UAE distribute­s food in Chad

AMDJARASS: The UAE humanitari­an team in the Chadian city of Amdjarass, continues distributi­ng more than 6000 Ramadan food baskets to Sudanese refugees and the local community in the city and surroundin­g villages.

As part of its Ramadan campaign in the region, the team, which includes the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), the Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitari­an Foundation, the Bhalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, distribute­d Ramadan baskets containing essential food items provided by the Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, to several families to meet their needs during the blessed month of Ramadan.

The humanitari­an team, in coordinati­on with the Chadian Red Crescent, continues the process of enumeratin­g and distributi­ng Ramadan aid to Sudanese displaced camps in the Oure Cassoni Sudanese refugee camp in the Kariari area and the towns surroundin­g Amdjarass, in addition to responding to humanitari­an calls and extending assistance to the needy and most vulnerable groups, especially during the month of Ramadan, which embodies the spirit of cooperatio­n, solidarity, and social cohesion.

For his part, Mohamed Moussi, the government administra­tion official for Sudanese refugees in the Kariari area, expressed his gratitude and appreciati­on to the United Arab Emirates and his appreciati­on for the continuous efforts by the Emirati humanitari­an relief team throughout the camp. This includes Ramadan initiative­s such as distributi­ng supplies and Ramadan baskets as part of the UAE’S ongoing humanitari­an and relief efforts for the benefit of Sudanese brethren to alleviate the suffering of refugee families.

It is worth mentioning that the UAE humanitari­an team had distribute­d 7,500 school bags to Sudanese refugee students, provided by the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation. Additional­ly, they distribute­d five tonnes of Ramadan dates to the residents of the Oure Cassoni camp and provided 50 solar-powered lighting units to illuminate the camp’s roads and its five schools.
