UAE passport is the most powerful worldwide: Study

ABU DHABI: The UAE passport is currently the most powerful worldwide, according to a new study conducted by Latitude Group, a leading provider of global residency and citizenshi­p solutions and business services.

The passport allows its holder to enter 182 countries without a visa including 124 countries that do not require a visa, 37 countries that require a visa on arrival and 21 countries that require an electronic visa, while only 16 countries require a visa.

The passports of Denmark, Sweden, France, Italy, Germany, the Netherland­s and Spain ranked second worldwide, allowing their holders to enter 180 countries without a visa.

Austria, Belgium, Finland, Ireland, Luxembourg and Portugal came in the third place as the passport holders of these countries are allowed to enter 179 countries without a visa.

In the fourth place came Australia, Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, Japan, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Singapore and Slovakia. The passport holders of these countries are allowed to enter 178 countries.

Croatia, Malaysia and the United Kingdom came in the fith place with 177 visa-free countries.

Recently, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, during a Cabinet meeting in Abu Dhabi, had approved the amendment of the executive regulation­s of the Federal Law on Citizenshi­p and Passport. Upon this, the validity of the UAE passport has been increased from 5 to 10 years for those aged 21 years and above. In addition, he approved a national policy for the circulatio­n and manufactur­e of biofuels in the UAE.

This was announced by Sheikh Mohammed via “X” plaform, as he said, “Today, we have approved a national policy for the circulatio­n and manufactur­e of biofuels in the UAE. This decision demonstrat­es our commitment to providing clean, sustainabl­e, and low-carbon energy sources.”

He added, “Furthermor­e, the executive regulation­s of the Federal Law on Citizenshi­p and Passport have been amended, and the validity period of the UAE passport has been increased from 5 to 10 years for those aged 21 years and above. The authoritie­s will provide more facilities and comprehens­ive digital services as part of the new amendments.”

Sheikh Mohammed said, “At it’s beginning, we reviewed the most important developmen­ts in the labour market in the country. The UAE ranked first in the world in the number of labour disputes according to the Global Competitiv­eness Yearbook, and also first in the world in its ability to atract talent according to the Prosperity Index, and third in the world.
