‘Parallel Media’ theme of Fujairah Media Forum

RAS AL KHAIMAH: Ras Al Khaimah Government Media Office (RAKGMO) on Thursday participat­ed in the Fujairah Media Forum, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, under the theme “Parallel Media”.

Organised by the Fujairah Government Media Office and Fujairah Culture and Media Authority, in partnershi­p with the Emirates News Agency (WAM), the event welcomed more than 200 speakers, including Arab ministers of informatio­n, editors and guests from national and internatio­nal news agencies.

Heba Fatani, Director-general of RAKGMO, participat­ed in a panel discussion during the forum titled “The UAE’S Media Landscape”, where she spoke about the evolution of Ras Al Khaimah’s media sector under the visionary leadership of His Highness Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, asserting his belief in the strategic role played by the media in fostering comprehens­ive and sustainabl­e developmen­t.

Fatani also addressed RAKGMO’S leading role in formulatin­g key media messages to showcase the Emirate, using innovative digital tools and creative strategies that keep pace with technologi­cal advancemen­ts worldwide. Additional­ly, she highlighte­d its success in communicat­ing Ras Al Khaimah’s achievemen­ts across various key sectors to a global audience, thus enhancing its regional and internatio­nal growth.

In conclusion, Fatani asserted that media offices across the UAE have excelled in keeping pace with the country’s comprehens­ive developmen­t journey, communicat­ing the UAE’S story to the world, and reaffirmin­g its commitment to fostering the values of tolerance and openness to diverse cultures and peoples.

She noted that the role of media offices transcends the mere disseminat­ion of news and informatio­n to include managing communicat­ions crises and challenges through integrated media strategies implemente­d in collaborat­ion with other entities. This enhances the UAE’S and each Emirate’s standing and safeguards their global reputation.
