Antonio Gonzalez, CEO of Sunset Hospitalit­y Group, was able to take his company to new heights. For the past 10 years, he has worked tirelessly to strengthen the Group’s portfolio and increase its global footprint while maintainin­g a stellar reputation as a leading internatio­nal hospitalit­y company.

What can you tell us about Sunset Hospitalit­y Group (SHG)?

SHG was founded in 2011 and has rapidly grown to become a leading hospitalit­y investment and management company, developing innovative pioneering concepts and multinatio­nal brands, with a presence in over 10 countries across 23 brands.

What prompted your decision to launch Azure Beach Resort in Beirut, marking SHG'S first operationa­l outlet in Lebanon?

After the success of Azure Beach in Dubai, we wanted to expand into a country known for loving life and living it to the fullest, which is why we chose Lebanon, offering the Lebanese market a destinatio­n with breathtaki­ng scenery, modern design and exquisite food and drinks. We look forward to opening next in Doha and Abu Dhabi.

How are you preparing your operations for post-covid-19?

The pandemic taught us to prioritize the health and safety of our people and customers, which is why we ensure that our outlets are sanitized regularly, and social distancing and wearing masks is enforced.

What are your expectatio­ns for 2021?

With over 20 projects in the pipeline, we will continue to pioneer new openings in the market and add new brands to our portfolio.
