Commemorat­ion Day marked by Dubai Police

DUBAI: The Dubai Police General HQ observed a minute’s silence on Thursday to honour Emiratis who have died while serving their country.

The ceremony for Commemorat­ion Day, which usually falls on November 30 but marked a day early, took place in the presence of Dubai Police senior oficers AND STAFF members.

The ceremony day began with THE lowering of THE national LAG At 8:00 a.m.

A minute’s silent prayer was observed from 11:30 a.m. to 11:31 a.m., which was followed by the raising of THE LAG AND THE national Anthem.

In a statement , Dubai Police’s Commander-in-chief, Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, said that Commemorat­ion Day is dear to our hearts, during which we remember THE ultimate SACRIICE of our Heroes. THEIR SACRIICE will BE Deeply-rooted in the memory of generation­s to come.

“THE 30th of November relects An unforgetta­ble memory to the UAE during which we remember those who have given their lives to protect our beloved homeland and the Arab nation, defended the rights, protected the oppressed, and stood with brotherly nations. Our heroes will remain a landmark and a millstone in the history of our beloved country,” Maj-gen Al Marri added.
